My only decent local option is backed up 6+ weeks. Just wanting to have some scope baseplate mounting holes opened up and tapped to 8-40 for a new base. Any recommendations?

You are in Rock Hill? Do the guys at Nichols have anyone they recommend, or are they not a good source?

I'm looking for one too for a similar fix. I was going to try over at Carolina Sporting Arms and see if they have a good one.

I believe Ray is the main “smith” at Carolina Sportsman. A good friend of mine has had several rifles built by him. I’d really like him to go over the rifle and work his magic on it so I may hold off till after deer season and leave it with him for awhile. Thanks for the suggestions though fellas.
