SBA3 brace plug

What’s that saying about not poking a sleeping bear?

Isn’t the idea that you put your hand through the hole to stabilize it? If you put it to your shoulder it doesn’t change the pistol to an sbr, but that’s not it’s intended purpose.

Morons. Let’s get this topic reviewed again by the atf. Only good things will come of it.

Also said it was helpful to use it and keep your arm outside the brace, similar to a blade.

No way I’m buying one, just thought it was an interesting product.

This is why we can’t have nice things...

From their website:

Note: All NFA rules apply. This plug may constitute a re-design of the pistol brace. We recommend only installing on rifles with a barrel length 16" or above or on registered SBR's. We are in the process of confirming legality with the ATF for use on registered pistols.

Why didn't they get the "Approval Letter" before putting it out for sale?

This is something that a company made for the KAK brace, but it was a no go with the ATF as far as shouldering with it installed.

To keep the brace from slipping in a rack you need a short piece of rubber pipe, 1/2" ID will do. Split it down the side and slip it over the blade part. No more hard plastic slippage (wood to blade or plastic to blade) or cement damage to the plastic blade. Small enough to leave on all the time.

A piece of pool noodle does the same plus cushions the bump/shock when storing in rack or safe. Available in high vis colors so you know it's there.:)

Disclamer: Not made to sholder, only to prevent slipping, shock and damage when vertical in storage.

Haha pool noodles. If I cant shoulder with it installed then its as useless as a hog with a hip pocket!

It's not modified to be shouldered with pool noodles. Maybe a slimmed down vesion of a non-skid noodle? Find a non-skid device that fits you, ah, your needs.

Selling a 3d printed part for 20.00. Not that hard a print to design either, and cheap black TPU filament is around $20 for a 1kg spool. Should just put it on thingiverse and let people print it out.

I've got a sba3 in the mail but have been pleased using a simple kak. Time will tell. If ATF approves, I'd like to try one.

Got my Split fix on

Might toss a set of irons on this I’ve got laying around and in 6-12 months, my Mini-4 after ATF purgatory

It was mentioned in another thread that the SplitFix doesn’t come with instructions, but you can find help online. I search and found this info:

...and in the comments I noticed this:

If you're a Righty, install the opposite way, if you want the buckle on the outside (right side) of the stock? Otherwise, the buckle is right where your cheek is.

Anybody here tried it both ways to know if it’s worth doing it the opposite way?

I installed it just like that IG Page says and the plastic buckle is on the left side but nowhere near where my cheek rests when the split is properly “fixed”. It’s just below level with the QD socket. I don’t rest my cheek on the rear of the brace but even if I did, the buckle is below where a cheek weld would be.

There was actually a nice video on their website explaining how to install.

Slapped my splitfix on today, tightened the brace up really well.

With no $200 stamp, no notification and ATF paperwork and the ability to conceal in some areas, I will say... It's not going anywhere....
Until a pen stroke makes them all NFA items like the bumpstock ban. I totally disagree with the NFA and all of its bullshit, anti-constitutional taxes but these companies that keep poking the bear are asking for it.

IF that happens... That would be a helluva pen stroke ..
