The sea which just right down the road has excellent fish tacos. Also dock side serves amazing breakfast

Shuckin' Shack for seafood, either the one at the waterfront or the one in Carolina Beach.....the one in CB is standing room only usually in the evenings so get there early. I recommend getting a steam bucket for 2 people

Not recommended: Big Daddy's in Kure. Terrible. Aweful. The little place near the KB pier on the right is great if you want a nice flounder sammich.

Jack Mackerel's in Kure beach

El Cero's Mexican restaurant 2 locations in ILM

Mission BBQ in ILM

This is just a few. I'm in Wilmington fairly often.

Ate at Mission BBQ with the family on S. College yesterday. Good Q and sides.

Kure Beach Pier Diner for fried food; Jack Mackerels ain't near as good as it was, but the seafood chowder is still on point.

Probably won't be open, but Britt's Donuts and Kate's Pancakes in Carolina Beach are the only things that make that yankee infested beach worthwhile.

I like El Mariachi for Mexican. It's next to Staples on College Rd/New Centre Dr. I think it's better than El Cerro.

I love some Britt's but the line was insane last time we were there.

We have enjoyed Fish Bites on Carolina Beach road: https://www.fishbitesseafood.com/Home
The location doesn't look like much (a strip shopping center behind a gas station) but the food is good. That gas station (Candy's Exxon) also has a surprisingly good selection of beers.
This! I drove by this place so many times till I asked a friend who lives down there where to go. The food is amazing.

I'm not from the area, but when I was there a couple years back, I was directed to Cape Fear Seafood Company.

I can not attest to anything else on the menu, but their scallops were the best I had ever eaten.

And... although it was nowhere to be found on the menu, when I asked about an Irish coffee for my digestif, I was obliged.

I'll second Fish Bites and Cape Fear Seafood. Both are consistently good.

Freddie's at Kure Beach has the best pork chop I've ever had.

K-38 or Tower 7 (same menu) for a great American take on Mexican.

The Olympia has great seafood and the food has always been quality.

Sweet and Savory near Wrightsville is great for breakfast or dinner.

Fork and Cork downtown for a good gourmet burger. Copper Penny is a pub with great sandwiches downtown.

For good Asian either Indochine or Double Happiness. Neither are buffets.

If you have time take the ferry to Southport go to Loco Joe's, awesome fish tacos. As mentioned above Fish Bites is always good. as well as Something Fishy Seafood in Wilmington

Front Street Brewery. Pretty good food, beer is excellent and they have the largest selection of whiskey in NC.

PT's Grill ( hamburger place) several locations .

Hang 10 Grill in Carolina Beach has a good breakfast. They have good hamburgers too.
