Selling a pistol with mismatched serial #

Your only issue will be people lowballing you because the numbers don't match.
Which Iā€™ll be happy to initiate...

How about trading for an entire brick of 22lr, only half of which have been fired.

Any issues with selling?

Probably in Europe.... but not here. My Gen2 G23 had to be sent back to Glock for some work and they replaced the barrel with one that doesn't have the same serial. Ruined the collector value, but the serial on the frame was all the FFL cared about (that it was shipped from/to).

Although... maybe the collector value is enhanced? They did put a "revised" sticker on my tupperwear box and give me some fancy paperwork saying what work had been done. Rare is the glock that needs to be factory reworked?

Hey, if someone really wants a Gen2 Glock and you are holding one, it has collector value. A few more years down the line, it will be difficult to find a Gen3 when you want one, and then those will be valuable too.

You can maybe make up the lost value by stippling it thoroughly.

I find a weed burner liberally applied before using an old wood chisel heated until glowing red give me the best results. Here's my best one so far.

And I've been wasting my money on Talons. Who knew?
Yeah. They work MUCH better when you move at least one spring from internal to external.

I have a Glock 19gen 5 frame with a 19x slide on it. The entire upper is matching, and the frame, I bought new, as a complete g19 but traded out uppers.

Any issues with selling?

Depends on what you consider an issue. As Triple07 noted in the first reply, with regard to legal transfers of handguns (where you comply with state or federal laws or regulations), the only serial number that matters is the one on the frame/receiver. Anything else that is serialized is done so for non-regulatory/legal reasons -- at least that's the case here in the U.S.

Some potential buyers might want to haggle with you about mismatched numbers, trying use it as a bargaining point to get a lower price. My counter move would be to thank them for their interest and wait for the next inquiry.
