Anyone have one of the Zenith Firearms MKE Z-5RS? I would love to own an old school MP5 but could never afford it. So I have been considering one of these clones. They seem to be coming back into country again.

I have a CZ Scorpion which I like but it just does not have that classic MP5 look.

They say that they are using the same machines/tooling that HK used.

That is what I have read as well. They bought the tooling and a Lic to make them. A FFL on another forum who has one for sale has true HKs and a MKE and said they excellent for the money but since he is trying to sell one I am looking for other options.

I am interested in the setup with the brace so it remains a pistol in the eyes of NC vs a SBR. I did the same thing with my CZ Scorpion. If I ever leave NC I would consider going the SBR route with the HK sliding stock.

I have an omega mp5k. Love it because it has the 1/2x28 threaded barrel.

Don't have one, shot one a little last weekend. Seemed like a good gun. Had a three lug, functioned fine with and without can, supers and subs. Could hit an IPSC at 200yds pretty consistent. Owner was very happy with it.

How was the trigger? That was an issue with the CZ. Out of the box it was horrible. Sent it to HBI and it is much better now.

I think a trigger is a mute point on buying a gun you want. Like a Scorpion, it can be "fixed" lol

I agree with that 100% but it is something to consider prior to purchase. I knew going in that I was 99% sure I would have to do the trigger work on the CZ so I accounted for that in the budget when I priced it out. If the trigger on the MKE sucks out of the box I want to know what it will cost and what it will take to make it good.

All of theses PDW's are a blast!

You need to being out the Scop or the ZM to my next course and run the snot out of them.

I know a guy that has a Zenith MP5 clone that he SBRd and it looks like a vintage MP5, I’m not sure of the exact model but he said it has functioned 100% and that you can in fact use HK parts which was something he wanted to do with the stock.

He has since SBRd an MPX and he said he rarely shoots the Zenith because the MPX is way more fun to shoot, that’s just his opinion of course so ymmv.

I looked long and hard st the MPX but despite my user name i can’t trust Sig anymore.

Honestly unremarkable, I shot a mag through it among handful of rifles unfamiliar to me in quick succession and the trigger doesn't stand out. It takes really nice or really awful for me to remember and I don't. Sorry. He also mentioned HK factory parts compatibility.

Perfect. For this gun middle of the road it ok. :D

I also love the MP5 platform...for what it used to be. I haven't shot one of these, but I know if I ever got one it would not be because it is any better than a more modern PCC. It would be because the MP5 used to be the coolest sub gun around.

I hesitated and lost out my meal deal on this one. Sometimes you just can't pull the trigger. LOL
