Just like the title.
Looks like it could be a pine seedling.
If it is that and not a weed I might transplant it to a better growing space.
But not in the front yard. Too much future risk to the water main coming in.
Or since we are moving, pot it and give it away to someone that would like to plant it.

Snap off a few needles, roll them in your fingers and I are a sniff.
You'll know then.

I think it is a cedar sapling as well. We were cleaning up the old ballfield at a local church many, many years ago and I dug one up that was by the back stop. One of the older gentlemen that was in the church said: "there is an old saying that when you plant a cedar tree, when it gets big enough to shade your grave, you will die."

I planted it in my yard and it is about 15 ft + tall now. Though, knowing that tree came from that church ball field where I used to play Little League ball 45 years ago makes me smile when I see it and knowing I saved it.

There are many interesting legends and sayings about cedar trees, those in grave yards, etc. Check it out on the Google.

Funny you posted this.

As a child I played under a fully mature cedar tree that was on my Grandfather's farm at the time. I told my mother when I die i want to be buried under that cedar tree. Well the farm was sold, but on my city lot there are two cedar trees. Just sprinkle me out there. PS. Don't spend no money on no fancy urns. Just use the half gallon mason jar in the cubbard.
