Whole house Generator options??

Rantingredneck, I too run mine every Monday for 10 minutes. When the service guy was here this week he took the casing off the generator while running and I think the noise level doubled.

Yup. The inside is very well lined with soundproofing.

Did they tell you the db rating for it? I have no idea at what distance they measure the sound but the Generac was 67 db for 22KW and 63 db for 16kw, not that sound is the primary consideration, but since we're talking about them...

I haven't bought one yet so I'm interested to know.

Spec sheet they sent me says 64dbA measured at 7 meters.

I just got two quotes, both for Generac.
22Kw, $9600 for direct hook up to natural gas, turnkey
I have this same setup and that’s about my cost. My unit runs every Monday and sends me an email saying the status of my unit. I can also log in anytime on my phone via a Generac app. Good luck with your setup.

@fieldgrade if you don’t mind, please share the name of the company that is doing your turnkey generator project - that is a good price you got.

They are both local in Wake County, NC so I don't know that it would help you in SC. I should add, my natural gas, electric meter, and breaker panel are all within 10 feet of where the generator would be placed, so it is about as simple an install as you could have.

Given that I'm planning to convert to a dual fuel heat pump in the next year or so I may actually upgrade that buried tank order from a 300 to a 500.

Seems to me I was at your place picking up a Ruger when you had that one planted?
