I once had a woman I thought a great deal of say just that to me. She died two days later. I just came in from sitting on the porch on The Bunk House overlooking the freshly mowed and manicured range. The breeze is blowing, the sun is shining and its about 80 degrees.
Today my dear Friend, the great gunsmith T.L Almond called me to let me know that our Ole Pard Bob Pruitt crossed the river. Bob was 6 feet and 5 inches of a bear of a man. He was 88. He lived a good life prospered and enjoyed his success. My world is smaller for his loss.
T.L Almond is 91. He has a grip like a vice and still rides a 1950 Pan Head he bought New a San Diego HD in 1950. He is the model for older age.
I am 72. I am not sure what I thought 72 would be like. It is as good as a man with my understanding could ever expect. I remember when I was 25, people my age now were worn out, tired, dying or dead. We have made great strides in keeping folks alive. Sometimes not for the best. I get up and go to work every day and love it. Same job for 53 years. I have been rewarded with a good life. I am proud to say I constantly stay on top of never taking it for granted.
CFF has always provided me with Bonus Days. You each enrich my days. I thank you for coming here, sharing your time with us and enjoying the "atmosphere" as one fellow said.
Go out tonight look at the beautiful moon with someone you care about, hug those "chillins" you picture on here and always be thankful for The Bonus Day.
