for years we have not pushed for a new roof even when much of the neighborhood got new ones due to hail damage. more than one storm ago.... so we finally do and their inspector claims no hail/wind damage and manages to take pictures of everything saying all good. ( I did replace a the furnace exhaust cap that was damaged and found in the backyard long ago. )
I have a picture of a vent boot flange that is curling up within 5 feet of where he has marks on the roof level with the flange . His pictures are taken from a position above that hides this fact. My picture is taken from the backyard. Would you say his intentions are fraudulent ?
Soon after the company mentioned non renewal of our policy due to branches in contact with the roof and " clawed/ curling shingles" needing repair/replacement to renew our policy. So I texted them a pic of the curled flange and asked if this was what they were referring to, I asked what would cause that damage, wind? hail? no real answer.
Then they say all is good and we can renew our policy...I feel we are being scammed,
Should I pursue this with a Lawyer?

The houses on both sides of me just had theirs replaced due to storm damage.. All advice is appreciated.

Nice tidy little package if the inspector works for the insurance co. If they wont fix it now hurricane season is coming....

Pretty sure the catastrophic claims adjuster gets paid per claim not per dollar amount they save the company. Most are independant anyway, working with a team of contractors that are sent to an area after a storm, hail season being where they donthe most claims.

My budd knew he needed a new roof and got some quotes. One guy got up on his roof to take a look and said HAIL DAMAGE. My budd called insurance company and I dont think they even sent an adjuster, they just said what they would pay and my budd paid about a grand more to the guy who climbed up on the roof. So maybe get a roofer to come out and take a look.

Get a new insurance company. I called mine when the heat and ac guys went under the house to check the duct work while they were there working on the thermostat and said they saw a wet spot under the bathroom. Called the plumber and he came and said shower pan was cracked. Called the tile guy and got a quote to tear out and fix the shower pan and retile the bathroom. Insurance company sent their adjuster out and he took a pic or two and said he would call in a day or two. Two days later I had a check in hand for the repairs.

Sounds like Farm Bureau of North Carolina. Notorious for cheaper premiums and rejecting claims. Had the same situation with Farm Bureau on my roof. 21 page report to deny the claim based on the shingles were not hand tacked in 1991. Soon as this 6 month premium ends I’m done with the bastards.
