I took Crye’s instructions for black multicam (various shades of gray, OD, and black) and made my own stencils again with painters tape and wax paper

I used Rustoleum’s matte Slate, Forest Drab camo and black camo.

After shooting it all with flat black to even it up, here’s some stencils applied:

After shooting it with the slate and drab, and going to put gray on top of drab and vice versa:

Let me know what you think!

You always do good work. Looks great! Be fun to see what you paint it next summer :D

man....i need to hire you to do my bolt gun. I'm a skeered of it.

I rattled my AR10, but that's just a PSA hunting rig that I don't care how fugly it gets.

I’ve got to buy more exacto knife blades lol

I've been eyeing a Duracoat Flectarn kit for my PTR91, this may inch me closer to getting up the nerve.

Very cool. I'm gathering ideas for doing my .300BLK SBR. I've had good luck with the old rattle can & craft sponge technique, but am thinking about throwing a mesh laundry bag into the mix. You obviously get great results with the homemade stencils, but after painting a buddy's AR, stencils are just too 'fussy' for me.

That's WAY hi-tech lol
Heres an attempt at digi-camo and another at using the undergrowth from my yard

Looks great! Wish I was that talented.

Man those look great. We should start a pool betting to see how long you can leave them alone before painting them again :D

I’ve only got one black AR left...the wife wants me to leave it alone but my track record with not spray painting my guns is poor

I won’t repaint these two for a while

@BigWaylon Id have to see it photoshopped first. I like the black furniture but I can be convinced

I think that’s a black SBA3 and gray grip? I know the Split Fix is the Typhon.

I swapped my black to gray on my AR57 not too long ago. The difference in color really depends on the light. Top pic is black installed with gray on standby. The rest are all with gray installed.

Yup, sure is.

I’ll see about ordering one

Thanks for the heads up

This is one of the nicest rattle can jobs I have ever seen. Very impressive.

That woodland camo looks fantastic! I’ve done a couple of variations of the pattern with Cerakote but one of these days I’ll have to see if I can pull it off with the actual colors.
