So, I’ve done a lot of work in Serbia; the ex-Yugoslavia. My first trip there was right after the war and I can’t count the subsequent trips. I’ve worked there for our State Dept. (for a time with Hillary as my boss ), The UN, World Bank, various Serbian Ministries and an agency of the capital city, Belgrade.

For sentimental reasons, I wouldn’t mind owning a gun made there. It would also allow me to tell @draco88 that I finally own a CZ. :p

Anybody able to tell me about these pistols? https://www.classicfirearms.com/zastava-m70-32acp-7-65-hg5073/

Is it too late to edit yer OP?
Yeah, I prolly dun sullied maself already.

I can affirm I was actually an independent contractor, working for a contractor, working for an agency of DOS (USAID). I never received emails from a secret bathroom server nor did I vote for her. ;)

Is that the one with the 40lb trigger? Thats exaggerated but i believe i shot a forum members from another forum and it was 12lbs or something like that. Real heavy.

Well so you think..

I haven't really ever heard much bad about Zastava pistols in general. I think for the price it wouldn't be a bad thing to pick one up, even if just for the connection to the country.

Bro, when you come out of the closet, you sure did step out BIG.

I think I’ll take a chance on one of those.
Don’t they offer them with an extra mag? Some educated friends said mags are always the issue with those E European surplus imports.

Link and video indicated two mags and box was $30 more. I would think that would be wise to pay for extra mag. I want it as a starter gun for virgin shooters who may want to go with me. Virgin as in never held a handgun, not a 11 year old in West Virginia who has yet to have contact with cousins.

I'd get a Yugo Tokarev instead. More stoppin 'powah, iconic design.

Tokarev's are a lot of fun. I really, really liked the one I shot. What's the ammo situation with 'em these days?

Outdoor Limited shows only 2 flavors of ammo in stock, both milsur from the ‘50’s.

I was going to ask what you know about Hellary but figured if I did you'd shoot yourself twice in the back of the head.

Just to add...I bought a Tokarev off a forum buddy a few years ago, then sold it in an auction to raise some funds for a fallen member. And while I have >zero< regrets over supporting our member and would do it again, I will say shooting that Tokarev made me want to get another. The 7.62 ammo is a blast (literally) to shoot. The recoil isn't bad, per se, but it lets you know you are hurling a bullet at a crazy speed. And I origionaly thought they "looked" awkward, but the ones I have held actually feel great in the hand, are natural pointers, and very accurate. Honestly, the >only< reason I haven't really grabbed another was because of the ammunition. Not necessarily because its expensive, but since I often find myself shooting at indoor ranges many of them disallow the surplus stuff. For someone with their own outdoor range, I say freaking go for it.

@Jeppo, up until a couple weeks ago, this was my only Serbian pistol:

Pretty awesome, but not so easy to carry concealed in the summer ;) A couple weeks ago, I scored a Zastava M70A from a fellow CFFer. Very nice little Tokarev clone from Serbia chambered in 9mm. While you're probably not going to mount any fancy night sights or flashlight, it's a fun, simple blaster that is fairly accurate and fits right in with my Yugo/Serbian AKs. It's super cheap, too! Zastava makes some great stuff all around.

Curious question -- why .32?

You can get some pretty good guns that are about the same size in .380 (or a CZ-82) in 9x18 which might be a bit larger. And the prices for any of them are pretty competitive.

If you just want something small, the Kel-Tec P32 is good, and there is little bad to be found about that particular Kel-Tcc model. It's small, and you can really carry it in a shirt pocket!!

I wanted a small gun made in Yugoslavia, in good condition and without spending much.

I never bought one due to the ammo. I worked too hard to get back to my standardization of ammo calibers.

This one should be pretty easy. OL has plenty of 50 round boxes in stock.
