Should be a great Day as far as weather! I will be out there at 730 setting up if anyone would like to volunteer
it would be much appreciated. Look forward to seeing everybody! Let's Shoot!!

Brett
Ill throw in 100rds to the winner for the season opener

Another great match. Thanks Brett, and all that helped!

The stages were a good mix of speed and accuracy.

Love shooting in the Carolinas this time of year. The weather was perfect.

Look forward to doing it again.

Thanks Brett and everyone that helps out.
Wife's birthday next month, hope to see all y'all in July.

Hey guys - posting in behalf of Brett who is out of town this weekend.

This weekends match is a Go and will be run by Isaac S. + support of a few others.

Show up between 9-10 am @ PHA tactical bays. Safety brief at 10 am and shooting starts soon after.

Y’all know the drill:
$10
Approx 150 rounds
Bring eyes / ears; holsters + mags/mag holders

Weather looks good but we will verify on Friday around noon. It will be hot so plan accordingly (water, sunscreen).

I'm planning on coming. Sounds like a good time!

Count me in for a little punishment from Isaac & friends.

Was going to shoot the sub-compact this month, but am now thinking I might need something with more capacity.

A huge thanks to Isaac and everyone that helped run the match when Brett was unable to attend.

It was a different mix of stages and had good speed. The simplest of the stages (stage 1, bay 5) was personally the most humbling. o_O

And a thanks to Dan (and others) that chose to paint those stop plates red to mess with our Open class optics gunners. :D

Thanks again to Brett and everyone that helps make this an enjoyable match.

Again we were blessed with some of the best weather the Carolinas have to offer.

Was equally blessed to have my son join me today in his first match shoot. A couple of bobbles, but I thought he handled himself well in his first time on the clock. He said he enjoyed himself and hoped to do this again. Thank you to Brett and others on our squad for the guidance and encouragement.

I really enjoyed the match today! I felt like I shot well too which is a plus lol. Thanks to everyone who helps put these matches on!

What a great way to spend time with your son. Hope to see him again...... and he will soon be taller than you!

If you took a picture of your score sheet from LAST Saturday’s match (July 27), send it to me ([email protected]), and I’ll create a spread sheet for the results and then upload here. I’ll do this if I receive at least 10 score sheets by this Sunday at 6:00pm, and then I’ll have a Results sheet posted here by 8:00pm.

Brett runs three businesses. The DefPistol match is a "labor of love" for him and his wife. To paraphrase "Treasure of the Sierra Madre": "We don' need no steenkin' scores!".....

Brett will get to it when he can. The fact that they aren't posted means other things came up. He's a beyond solid good dude for those of you who don't know him well. Patience gang, it's not like there's a million bucks in prize money on the line.

I'm waving my white handkerchief on the end of a stick. I meant no harm or disrespect to your leader. I don't need to see the results from last Saturday's match, but I thought there might be some participants that would want to use the results as the highly effective training tool that they are. Finding out where you landed in an activity sooner rather than later allows one to adjust their training so as to improve and further develop certain skills. No one gets significantly better by just being told they're doing good...people need to see their results, relative to others. That is a proven fact in sports, business, military, etc. One only gets better at anything when they know they're training or competing with people that have a greater skill set. This is true with any activity, whether it be a shooting match, trying out for Seal Team 6, trying out for an athletic event or team, taking SAT tests, working to earn that year-end bonus that's given to the top salesperson, even knowing your credit score, and the examples are endless. At Thirteen years old in 1981 I trained with Mickey Fowler, John Shaw, Mike Plaxco, and Mark Duncan. Fast forward 38 years, and I now have the benefit of shooting USPSA, IPSC, and IDPA with and around several current National and World Champions. Seeing where I land in relation to their performance is very humbling, and many times embarrassing, but I use the experience to adjust my training so as to make me a better shooter and competitor. I want to shoot with and around people that are better than me. That does not intimidate or discourage me. Put me in the ocean as a gold fish, and with time I'll breach the surface as a shark. Timely Feedback is a critical training tool, and is just as much a part of a match or training session as any one stage within the match or training session. Whether you see yourself as a competitor, an operator, or both...you're not finished until you shoot the last stage or immobilize the last assailant...and the Match or Encounter isn't over when you get in your vehicle to drive home. It's only completed when the participants have received and reviewed the results. So to "SnowDogs" people do need scores (you just may not want them); and to Wynn and Dan, you nailed it on the head...there's NO meaningful money to be won at any shooting match at any level...the only take away are the scores/results and an occasional pat on the back. Over the last 39 years I've shot approximately 700 matches (local, regional & national) and I've not been able quit my job. Let me be clear...No one was questioning anyone's amount of labor, love or character...just simply and politely inquired about the results...not so much for myself, but on behalf of others that might have a desire to train harder and improve. To anyone that doesn't care about scores/results...you should start. God Bless...and MAGA!

If scores are not important then why compete? I understand that things happen that take priority. I'm not a serious competitor; however, I do like to see how it all unfolds when the game is over. For me it has become a social event where gunfire is expected to erupt. I enjoy the fellowship with friends and folks that enjoy the same things. I am not in contention to win, I do like to see how I place.

I hope that things smooth out and the results can be posted soon.

Having been a MD for a number of years, I know that people want the results sooner than later. There were times I hadn't even made it back to the house from the range when I had emails wanting to know WHEN the results would be posted. The results were always printed before we left the range and awards were completed. Some folks just came, shot and left before the results could be plugged into the computer.

I'm sure that no disrespect was intended.

Jeez guys, lighten up. The scores will get posted when they get posted. If your performance metrics must be satisfied immediately, bring a notebook, write your stage results and keep a running log of your progress. I've been shooting a long time too. A very long time. For fun and for real. My post is simply to say have some patience, things come up, the scores will be posted. Have a good one.
