Flying out Friday morning to look at a truck. Will have that afternoon/night to myself, anywhere in downtown I should eat for dinner? Avoid at all cost? Anything to do out there other than sweat my butt off?

Douchebag watching in Scottsdale..?

Maynard Keenan's wine bar is probably cool...

Merkin Vineyards... Lol...

It's a dry heat...
When the wind blows it don’t help either ... it’s like a hair dryer on high blowing in your face.

And that 110° is no joke ... tomorrow is supposedly going to be like 114°

My Uncle swears by a place called The Pig &the Pickle in Scottsdale. Keeps telling me when I come out there it’s the place he is taking me.

You want the real deal awesome Mexican food?

Los Sombreros in Snottsdale, no bs, best mex food you'll ever eat.

Pics on Google look legit... Need more joints like that around here and less El Dorado Tex-Mex BS...

If you're right by ASU check out Casey Moores at 9th and Ash in Tempe. Was my old watering hole when I lived there, was always an interesting crowd (hot wimmins) great food, awesome service and the building has a ton of character and some interesting history.

I love Chelsea’s Kitchen up in the Camelback area north of Sky Harbor. Same owners have a good burger joint in the area and a pizza place across the street. Chelsea’s normally has some special with Brisket and they are all good. I’ve spent a couple weeks a year out there the last few years and always go back to Chelsea’s a couple times a week.

Speedy Street tacos over off 40th street is a good quick lunch or snack.

I once bought a $100 plus shot in Scottsdale. Be careful out there.

Luckily for you, you are likely way too old and Southern to get in trouble out there. You hope.

Don’t under estimate me, I’m sitting at the hotel bar with a half Chinese half Mexican lady. It can only go downhill from her.

If you don’t mind some company, I know a fella named Charlie that’ll tag along with you...sorta “proud” dude.

Anyhoo, his woman did him wrong, he was looking to get away to clear his head and Phoenix was one of the places he was wanting to go; San Antonio was his other choice.

Pinnacle Peak Patio Steakhouse was the shiznit when it was open.

Wow..seamus mccaffreys.. 7 years ago I was at the renaissance for work and ended up there one night. Vaguely remember getting back to the hotel.

Thai Basil is a good spot. Sticklers for lunch. Can get busy though. There used to be an English style pub over on 7th just south if Van Buren, but google maps says its some bar bianco now. Once you get over 7th the area goes down hill as I recall. I do remember there being a big breakfast joint way down van buren by the 10, that was pretty decent. Big sign for it, etc.

Spent 3 months in PHX, and 3 in Scottsdale..basically living in hotels. Scottsdale used to have a ton of good thai, but its been so long I cant remember the names.. i was holed up at the Hilton Garden Inn in N. Scottsdale for a three month gig. Good times.

Oh yeah..if its still around, the Tilted Kilt...decent steak salad, lots of ASU scenery...
