As we're going down the road this morning we notice someone's stuff is thrown out on the lawn at the apartment complex. Thru the tears my wife tells me the story behind this. Seems a Vietnam vet had a stroke or heart attach and is in the hospital. He missed his rent payment by a couple of days and the management company throws all his stuff out on the lawn. The heartbreaking parts is when everyone that lives there starts having a free for all with his stuff. Someone even stole his purple heart metal! These low life vultures take this poor man's personal belongings while he's fighting for life in the hospital. Who does that!!! I think someone from a veteran's group was contacted and they came out and put a tarp over his stuff and tried to gather some of his important documents. It seems when you think people can't get any worse, they do.

While the circumstances seem rather dismal, that practice of piling the tenants belongings by the street is not new. I've seen it countless times when I lived in the Atlanta area (90-98). As I understood the practice, it didn't happen until an eviction order was secured.
But the vultures still showed up...

I figured Murder Beach... but I would like to know:

1. Apartment Complex
2. Name of the Veteran
3. Date of the eviction

I would just like to ask a few questions.....

If you discover some malfeasance that could benefit from some angry phone calls...please post the findings here.

Its always been my understanding that you can't be evicted just after one missed payment. There should be a process in place where the landlord has to warn the tennant, contact law enforcement, serve eviction papers, etc. I'd expect that there was 60+ days of non-payment before an eviction.

Well... FMFSOB....

I was going to make some calls, but looks like the local media has flushed out the what and where... of course, while keeping the people in the decision chain anonymous... which is BullS#!t.

Folks need to know the WHOs' behind the decisions and the WHOs' that put hit stuff out on the street without a care in the world and the WHOs' low-life scums that ransacked it.

Then we need to find out the WHYs:
1. Why was the VA not informed of the eviction
2. Why was the Mgt Company not more of Step-Forward
3. Why do people not go the one extra step to consider individual circumstances?

Now, I know that folks will just say... that is the process and people are busy. And.. would you do the same thing for the no-good loafers in the ghetto?

Damn right... we should. We would. But today's people just don't have the critical thinking skills to be impactful... They just are cogs in the wheel of the system, because they were mentored and educated wrongly.

We got people outraged over stupid things like Israel denying Visa's for a Congresswoman, Spicer on DWTS, what the Pres said this week... Area 51... but this just gets reported and no one really seems to get on board and fix the solution... at least offer a solution.

Eff it!

Rant over....

Here is the leadership team of the Management company....

Can at least rattle a few cages...

I just left a VM with the VP of Management asking her to kindly give me a call to discuss. I told her I am not affiliated with any VA, Media or in any way connected to the parties involved.

I would just like to discuss her thoughts on the process and systems and lack of critical thinking regarding this episode and what are Sterling's thoughts regarding how this was handled.

Probably will not get a return phone call, as I left my full name and cell phone number, but maybe she will call to discuss. Maybe they are not aware... but I doubt it.

Pisses me off when a company that puts themselves out with Award Winning Groups and has many ties into the right associations with Mission Statements about retaining and growing a loyal bunch of clients allows something like this to happen.

But.. .affordable housing is in tight supply.. and when you are in that position... the Mission Statement tends to change to "Let them eat cake...."
