Rexing V1 Dash Camera

I waited too long. :(

Too much time looking at those off brand guns.
Exactly right. That’s my punishment for even thinking about cheating on S&W. :(

I just picked up another Rexing V1 for my wife's car for her birthday. I really like the one I have in my Jeep.

The 4 I ordered (the version with the rear camera for a few $ more) and the 4 64GB cards all came today. Now I have to find time to put them in.

Finally installed my Rexing V1LG dual camera dash cam in my daughter's car.
Gotta figure out the controls a little better as far as setting it up. It could be a little more user friendly finding the correct menus IMO.
This one has the GPS logger..so it shows speed etc.
She's about to be a new driver and I want as much protection as possible.

I've got a Crosstour from Amazon, ~$40, that paid for itself this week. Had a guy try to do a u-turn from the right lane in front of me in the left lane. After his insurance company saw the clip they immediately said they will pay. Ever hear the sound of someone shaking their head over the phone? that's what I could image when the company rep viewed the video while I was on the phone with him. :D

I may have missed it when scanning this thread, but what size card is recommended for these? If I have any of the manuals for mine, they're buried in a pile of junk I'm not interested in digging through right now.

I have a 64GB in one at the moment. I just took it out to verify that it still records. This cam was used last weekend when we pulled our camper to the beach. The last file was the video of us pulling back into our yard, but the first file was of the campground, after we had already set up the camper. So, the trip down there had already been overwritten.

Will these accept larger cards? For instance, my trail cams recommend 32GB max.

I run a 64gb card in mine and was a bit disappointed how quick everything gets written over.

To be quite honest, my overall impression of the camera is kinda "meh." Placement on the windshield may be my issue but would have thought the image would have been a bit better with the reviews I've read. I picked up the one with the rear facing camera and wifi/gps. Haven't hooked up the rear camera yet but if I was to do it over I would have just gotten the $50 one. Certainly will continue to use it but just not quite what I was expecting.

The Rexing V1 can take a max of 256GB card. A 32gb micro sd card only records about 3.5 hours of 1080 before it loops.

If you think you might want a vid double tap the center button to save it. If I have close calls I do that since I use it mostly for work. 64g will almost record about 11 of my 13 hour days.

Thanks!

I knew it had that feature, but I had already forgotten how to use it.

I have a v1p 3rd gen and love it. The clock is 4 hours off.... I have set it, but it changes itself back. Anybody know a trick to make it "stick"?

Leaving work last Thursday a lady in an SUV nearly caused a bad time for some people. I had too much brightness in my picture and that has been corrected. Nothing to see until late in the video. You can start it at about 3:45 and get to see everything.

Close call! I bet you had some puckerage.
I did. And, I'll bet that the person in the red car never even saw what was happening.

I just picked up a Rexing V1P 3rd gen with the rear facing 2nd camera. I haven't had much time to set it up (all I was able to do was to attach the mount tonight) but I found out the F150 doesn't have a switched cig lighter port so it will have to be powered with the hard wire kit which should come tomorrow.

Thanks for all the recommendations.
Well this thing likely paid for itself today. While driving down the road a tow-truck with an F-150 in tow was passing me going the opposite direction when 3 large pieces of fiberglass reinforced plastic (think shower wall liner) flew out of the bed of the F-150 and into my path, hitting the front of the truck and down the driver's side leaving big scratches a dent and other streaks of gelcoat/fiberglass. I followed the guy to his shop and he told me to get the F-150s info. I did but when I called my insurance guy he said I needed the tow-truck's info as he was pulling the F-150 and that now that I've left most likely the tow truck will not give me the info so I need to file with the NCSH. I called the HP and told them what was up and that I had dash cam video and other pictures and descriptions in a word document. The trooper said it sounds cut and dry and would be there in 30 minutes. He came, took my info agreed that it isn't my fault and asked for the dash cam video and the word document. I'm waiting for him to call back now either tonight or tomorrow.

The damage isn't too bad, I'm hoping it can just be buffed out and the ding sucked out with a puller.

My insurance guy is going to be installing them in his cars this weekend he said after hearing of this situation.

This is one of those things I've been meaning to get around to. Famous last words. You have motivated me.

I’ve had 2 Rexing dash and now for about 3 and 5yr, they’ve been great 90% of the time. However, a friend had THE WORST experience buying from Rexing directly, to take advantage of a discount. Don’t buy from them, buy through Amazon!! It took about 2mo for him to get functional cameras and that included trying a chargeback.
