Come on, that stuff could have exploded; sending off bullets in all directions!

Building the narrative that mail order ammo is too dangerous (for anyone but .gov and law enforcement of course). Can't add it to 'common sense gun laws' until you've played up the panic a few times.
Bingo. That was beating the narrative, nothing more. It’s targeted at those who don’t understand squat about buying ammo but can be convinced buying it online is dangerous and needs to be restricted.

This is getting old.

"I've had ammo misdelivered to a neighbors house. The neighbor brought the package over. "

I had the exact same thing happen yrs ago with Midway. They were less than helpful tracking g down the wayward ammo. Before my neighbor brought it over. Midway suggested I "look around the neighborhood for it". I told them I did not select that delivery option when I checked out. I dont order ammo from midway anymore.

FedEx delivered 500 rounds of ammo to my address. Just like they were supposed to. On time even.

Except they left the package front and center on the stoop. I could see it from the street. Hazmat tag and all!

This box didn't say what was in it, but sometimes they do.

I have a relatively private front porch and deliveries are usually put behind a column by USPS, UPS, Amazon and FedEx.

We also have issues with porch pirates.

Fortunately I got to it.

The wrong deliveries come down to drivers not doing their job properly. I've had many boxes that require over 21 signature required, just dropped on the porch. I've had them not want to carry a heavy box up the drive way, I've had to go pick up bullets from the office. It's both Fedex and UPS, USPS will put a note in my box to come to the post office to get the package.

I would have panicked, too.

You got my money. Where's my stuff? Meaning, I wouldn't care if it was windshield wiper blades. If I paid for them, I want them. Lol.

Oh, I understand the panic!

What if it made it into the hands of some wascally wabbit? [rolls eyes]

So reading between the lines, dude got mad at fedex, probably demanded compensation & was refused. So he calls the news to bring attention to a “ serious problem“ as payback...

And that genius will get paid back when his “boy who cried wolf” story leads to outlawing online ammo sales.

I live in a center of the town address with all the houses having nice house numbers displayed. The last two weeks I have had one delivery with zero packages addressed to me but 4 different neighbors packages, a package for the across the street neighbor, a single package without any close relationship to my address, and a single package that was next day air.
There is no contact info for UPS to get this stuff picked up from their site. It just puts you in an automated loop for 5 options. I had to call the contracted UPS store and ask for the main hub phone number. When I spoke with the hub I told them I would not be dispersing their packages to neighbors any longer.

Not without a paycheck at least.

I have my stuff delivered to me at work. That is where I am at when deliveries are made.Glad I have that option.
My Fedex driver thanks me when he sees me coming out of Fuquay Gun.One less package for him to deliver.

To get to the place these folks want to be first you have to "make the case". Enough of these "reports" are simply paving the way.

If interviewed for the news or police I'd say something like "I just don't see the problem its just ammo. I mean I got their child pornography back in may and just threw it away."

Yes. I felt the story was a bit contrived.
