Copper and Penny would like to wish you a Happy Boykin Day! They will be celebrating with Cheeseburgers and Bomb Pops.

Today is Boykin Spaniel Day. Boykins are the official state dog of SC. The breed was created by Whit Boykin in Camden SC.

They are very cool dogs. I hunted with a few farmers growing up that knew the Boykins. Never met them that I can recall.

Thanks! He got a bite of hamburger off the grill and one tater tot when the wife wasn’t looking to celebrate Boykin Spaniel day!

I had a Boykin named Max when I was in middle school...dog would play football with us and knew who and when to tackle! Dangdest thing we ever saw! Great retriever too.

But they cheat at cards so you will need to watch them close. Maybe they are not that smart but close !!!!!!!!

LOL They are super smart and they know how to get what they want. The are also a super loving breed. They have a sweet disposition.

I grew up in the SC low country where a lot of them were used for ducks out of boats I would love to have another but I have 2 many dogs now
