Yea! I saw that on TV. There is always at least one a month. Cracks me up each and every time. No sympathy at all.

Son #1 didn't lose power in Hampstead and son #2 only lost it a few hours in Wilmington.
So far so good. Quite a few without power around us though. Ours has blinked several times and that is it. The build up of water in the backyard has started going down already. But we will see what happens when the next band comes around. All good. Have not heard from @vaskeet he lives a little east of me.

Didn't lose power. Had some branches in the yard. Neighbor had a tree fall across his driveway and then across most of the road. I had to go slightly off pavement to get around it. Not getting many thrilling hurricane survival stories here I guess.
Nothing here to report other than wind, rain, and some leaves blown down. Sharpened saw chains yesterday and threw the chainsaw, extra chain, fuel/bar oil in the truck for my early morning commute this morning just in case something tried to keep me from getting to work. Left an hour early and of course roads were clear. If I left the saw at home there would have been an oak 5' in diameter across my only route to work. Thankful things turned out like they did and glad everyone here remained relatively unscathed.
Had no weather here until after 7 PM. Before that just rain and breezy, After that Windy and lost power at 9 PM. Power back at 11:45. Yard all cleaned up by helpers and tomorrow gotta remove 3 small trees we lost on the range. Oddly enough they broke at the height where they had been shot a blue million times. We'll cut em off about 4 feet and make target posts out of them.

Man that's hard to see. We go to Ocoke yearly and it REALLY took a bullet this storm.
That is just one of the sections. There are several like that on the Island. NC 12 going to Hatteras is open and listed as hazardous.
lost power at 10:00 am then they teased me when power came Back on at 8:00 pm I shut down generator and put everything up. Power then goes back down until 3:45 am when I have to get up to go to work. No real damage. lost some trim on the house but I did not see any other damage It could have been much worse
@vaskeet The block behind us lost power about 10am Friday morning and they just got power back at 11:00am today.
Just noticed about 20 minutes ago that we lost one tab off of one shingle and of course right up by the peak. Have a friend (a lot younger then me) coming Monday to fix it. Shrimp dinner will be served. Thank goodness I always have extra shingles.
