Interesting thoughts on private sales.

it might cut down on BOS threads....

Again,
Speaking for my self, I don't want a "Simple" Bill Of Sale for the purpose of "Pre-Crime."

Period

Everyone seems to believe that Big Bro doesn't know where the hardware is located and frankly they don't directly have to.
In NC , just look at PPP & CCW files and that will locate a whole bunch of firearms owners, among other ways.

I get my drivers license today.
Next year I become prohibited.
Unmarked license doesn't expire for seven more years.

A law requiring prohibited persons to go get new, marked licenses would totally fix that problem just like all the other laws against prohibited persons that work so well now

How about a law that if you unjustifiably hurt or kill somebody with a weapon, you are executed summarily? How about a law that if you are too damn dangerous to own a firearm, you sit your ass in jail until you ain't?

Furthermore, how about leaving "gun owners" (you know, the normal, sane, working people that keep this country alive) the F alone?

Ok, you finally hooked me. Why do you require a BOS?

While imperfect, it’s a painless “do something” that may be helpful sometimes.

As I’ve said 100times, as a taxpayer I’m opposed to keeping people locked up until we’re comfortable allowing them to exercise all of their rights. Heck I’d put 90% of current prisoners on house arrest and let their families feed them...or not. If they can’t abide by those rules they get sent to a camp, in Alaska.

More laws and documentation for those who are pillars of society is all we need, right? Why is it the law abiding get rules for those who prey on us? How many laws have been made because of illegals in the country.

Example:

1. Because illegals would get insurance, then a license, the drop the insurance you cannot drop your policy or someone on your policy without showing proof another policy exist.
2. Taxes on services that are labor. Because so many illegals are paid under the table in cash the IRS requires taxes on almost all labor services plus the goods. The government contends it is a way everyone gets taxed equally but that’s BS because non cash employee paid people pay twice now.

I could go on and on. Rules for the all due to law breakers. Enforce what is on the books like no illegals in the country.

I like that idea for drug offenders and non violent crimes. Put the burden on the people who raised these morons.

I don't see how the SJW's could allow it? That would be singling out and victimizing a group and dividing them from the "good" group.

The proposal is to mark the driver's license if a person is prohibited.
Private sales, just check the license.
FWIW, I am NOT in favor of having drivers licenses tagged to buy or not to buy.
I don't want all that info anyway, period.
If it gets to that, just require a PPP (permission slip ) for everything, fixed , sorta,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

OK FOLKS< Get your mind out of the GUN ZONE,,
Drum roll please,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If I purchase property ( Key word Property, again Property ) of either significance, value or both I want a BOS or Receipt.
Why? For proof that ownership was transferred to me ( or who ever ) period.

So , what about a gun? A gun is property, right?

Then of course there's always the guy in South Carolina that was selling used guns?

So, if I go to buy an item that happens to be a firearm and the seller refuses to supply a BOS, I'm not buying it.
It's NOT a big deal for me.
For me personally it's the same with any property, I.E. trailers ( easily stolen - all the time ) , etc.

Up to 10,000 guns seized from South Carolina home, sheriff says

It started with a tip to authorities and ended with a raid at a South Carolina home, where investigators found thousands of weapons stashed inside.

I remember when this happened. Never heard any more. We'll check with our firearms connections in Chesterfield and see what they know. Curious as to how many were Returned to rightful owner. Chesterfield county Sheriff's Department has Not historically been a bastion of efficiency.

those guns are in a warehouse (the ones that haven't been cherry picked) I'd take wagers that no care has been given to bother finding the owners if none of those guns are in NCIC database. Also, they probably haven't even been cataloged.

You could probably show up with your BOS and get your firearms returned.

Why not tattoo a big red P on a persons forehead as soon as they become prohibited? That way it only affects the prohibited and makes it really easy to see who can or cannot have firearms. If for some reason they become "unprohibited", then just put a red slash across the P.

Is that called the scarlet P?

Let me just go get my mark

Technically felons that were not quickly executed in colonial times were tattooed. That way if they were caught again they were executed with no change to get out of it. Just for a historical perspective.

Who would determine if it was justified or not? Judge Dredd?

So did the German people to begin with. They approved of laws banning from private ownership. Kinda sounds familiar
I know... But, some of us are of the rebellious sort. And I hope there are enough of us to make a difference. I believe there are.

Sadly I don’t. We will never know. I believe my grandkids will have to make that choice. We live in a time when we are living what I call the 9/11 effect when it comes to fightIng back.

I like this^^^

How about marking DLs to show "prohibited persons" who are not automatically allowed constitutional carry.

From all the gun laws being submitted, everyone in this forum would be prohibited...with the exception of LEO and retired LEO

That right there just put this whole thread into perspective. Nope! Not a fan of the idea...and a red P on my forhead? Try.
Thinking about it some more... It effectively creates a caste system, a sub-class of citizen. Might as well add a stamp for non-vaccinated.

100% agree! We technically already have this "caste system of sub-class citizens" whether you belive it or not. I belive it is the goal of the elite, to make all of you "criminals". With the implementation of a social credit score, demonizing gun owners, and ultimately outlawing them...one day you all may fit into this system, simply because you "won't comply". Many have stated in this forum, that the day they outlaw guns, is the day they become outlaws. Many officers of the law have stated, they wouldn't enforce unjust laws...and rightly so. It appears the day is fast approaching. The time is already here for all that know our country's history, to make the tough decisions. You either comply, or you die fighting for what is right and just, and "they" know this.

I am for the requirement to have a Voter ID to both vote and own a gun If you are not allowed to own a gun you cant vote same background check for both rights

for some reason this discussion reminded me of an old practice in Chicago. When you got a citation they took your drivers license and you drove on the temporary that was incorporated in the citation. To ensure that the licenses were not mixed up they would staple them to their copy of the citation. If you paid by mail they’d send it back, if you went to court you got it back. What’s interesting is that this was all before computers in cars and if you were pulled over again the officers would know if you’d received a citation, or many, based on the presence of staple holes on your license.
