Hopefully not another problem for the P365.

Saw this on a Sig P365 Facebook group. Poster says he was racking the slide to empty a mag and this is what happened. The tail end of the striker broke off. Looking at mine it appears that this part of the striker is what engages with the striker block. It also appears that with this part broken off that effectively bypasses the block.

Does this make it full auto like the P380/938 if you disassemble it wrong and damage the sear?

I don’t think so. With the tail broken off the striker can’t even engage the sear.

I think we'll see problems with these firearms arise simply because they're so popular. You can't expect 100% failure free manufacturing, but I've also heard of many of these being fired at ranges, seeing +60k rounds through them before they fail. I would still carry one every day, but I also keep my firearms fairly clean and inspect them more than most.

I clean and inspect mine after every range trip as well. I will continue to carry mine. I don’t see this part just breaking randomly while the pistol is sitting holstered.

A friend told me that they "think" they've gotten all of the issues corrected from models made since February or March of this year. I'll keep carrying my Glock 26. I can't risk my carry gun not operating correctly. Also, this particular friend runs a shooting range and has witnessed broken trigger springs and the striker issues.
