pre-programmed in your brain

I guess there are some things that the brain can't do.

This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't. It's pre-programmed in your brain.

1. Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY!!) and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with it.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.

^^^ internet version of standing in a group staring at a spot on the ceiling then walking away while their still trying to see what held your interest.

Actually, mind/body limitations like that can be overcome. But, it takes mind altering pharmaceuticals from the the '70's and the effects are permanent.

it depends on how you write your 6's. if you start in the center and spiral out in a clockwise direction, it works just fine.

another brainish oddity: If I try this as described I find the same result as the OP. I cannot move my hand opposite to my foot if my foot is already moving. But I CAN do it if I start my hand first and then do my foot. weird.

The government gave me drugs that altered the chemical balances in my brain, and now they pay me a decent amount for it because they gave me an incurable movement disorder that really f's me up

To be honest, all but a few areas are problematic for me.

I know some drummers that will make a mockery of this.

In all seriousness, it CAN be overcome, but it takes a lot of practice and concentration. Seems like a lot of effort for a party trick.

I swear this is one of the most disruptive complexes in the human world that never gets studied. I have two women in my house, and no matter how many times you tell them to put something back.. they just can't do it!

I think the researches can't work up a case study... because they don't put their observations, or materials or files back in the same place. This one irks me.. they ought to create a medicine for this disorder because husbands would make them rich spiking their family's drinks. Can't find nothing in my house.
