Keltec CMR 30

I had 2 myself and there have been more through here. Unbelievably light..really like a water pistol. Can be ammo finicky. Mine ran good with CCI MaxiMag.
Ultimately sold them because of the grip. Too long front to back for me...really strange to try to adapt to...for me. I finally bought a 1911 in .22 mag that holds 15 rounds and suits my hand better...again, for me.

That you can shoot 9mm for the same price?
yeah but you cant carry 12 mags and a pistol in one bag loaded and not be weighted down. very light weight gun and ammo. I have both the PMR and the CMR, love them both!

I had one and loved it. It was pretty accurate and fun to shoot. Definitely use ammo with a rounded tip, the pointy Winchester Varmint rounds didn’t feed well.

Love mine. I don't think Hickok45 gave it a fair shake. I've had lots of Keltecs and they often need a break in period as do some much more expensive brands, and quickly work into boring reliability. He acted surprised when it started running better, lol. Lots of reviewers don't seem to ever consider break in.

Doesn't run well with less than 40gr ammo, at least in the beginning. CCI & Hornady both work well for me. It does get dirty quickly and mine will start to malfunction after a few hundred rounds until cleaned. Or maybe I just haven't shot it enough yet. :D Really, I bet that's it. This is my second one and I don't think I've put more than 300-400 rounds through this one.

I finally picked one up and my wife loves it. It runs good and it's a blast to shoot.

My initial thoughts on anything Kel Tec, Hi-Point, etc. is cheap junk guns. Read better things about some of the Kel Tecs than I have Hi-Points though. Kel Tec finally made something that caught my eye because nobody else makes anything like it that I know of. The CMR 30 in 22 Mag. Looks like it could be something fun to shoot and cool to own along with 22 Mag is dirt cheap to shoot in volume. Reviews all seem positive for the most part. Read about some feed issues. Usually magazine or ammo related. Sounds like the gun doesn't like the mags topped off or lighter weight bullets. Just curious who here owns one or has messed around with one and your thoughts on it?

Decided to try it and just ordered one. Held one before. Kind of short, so I'm thinking I may put a vertical grip near the front of the lower rail. I saw the longer hand guard listed above but don't really like the look of it or the price.

Who has a CMR 30? What do you think of it? My wife wants one and Mothers Day is coming up. :D
I do and I really like it. Like the other KT long guns I've had they need a bit of a break in. I don't get these youtube reviewers who trash a gun that doesn't run perfect right out of the box. Hickok45 didn't trash it but he didn't do it any favors, and he looked surprised when it started to run well for him, well duh you were just getting it broken in.

Lots of other reviewers don't seem to know you are only supposed to run 40gr or heavier, or is that just the PMR30? Can't remember. Some magazines are better than others. I think Nutnfancy had a couple of bad mags and he trashed the gun for it. I've had good luck with it but only load the mags to 25 rounds, it's half a box so it works out to 2 mags per box, plus the thin 22mag brass starts to dent by then when loading them.

It's pretty accurate for what it is. I keep a cheap Simmons 22 Mag scope on a QD mount in its case and clays at 100 is no problem. Normally though I just use the set of magpul buis that have been on it forever.

Agreed, I never make a personal opinion on a firearm I buy until at least 100 rounds or so through it. There are some brands I'm skeptical of, as I mentioned above. Kel Tec being one of them for the most part. I decided to try this one because there is nothing else like it out there that I have seen.I'll def post my thoughts on it on this thread after I get it and put a few boxes of rounds through it.

Same here, have both. One in each car's GHB. You can't beat rimfire for capacity vs weight, and humping 50 miles home that's important.
