I’d only ride that cruising off road, it’s WAY too heavy for off road.
My modified smoker YZ-250, bored +2mm, lowered ports, Race Tech suspension, +12oz flywheel scares the crap out of me. The problem is after 10min this 53yr old man is so pumped with Adrenalin he thinks he’s 18 and bulletproof again.
I’ve got to sell the bloody thing.
Wow ... I love the suspension setup on that YZ. What’s the rear travel on that modern marvel ... a whole 4”-5”? I remember in 1978 when the Elsinores went to lay down shocks and then a mono shock just before I gave up chainsaw bikes.I rode a 250MX Yamaha and I attribute many of my aches pains to this and other dirt bikes. I'm glad that Suzuki wasn't available back in the 1970's.
I really don't like “lol”. It’s used as, I went to the mailbox, lol, etc...I shared this in a PM and decided to put it here for all to enjoy.
When I had my 250 Yamaha my buddy had a 360. We were putting a set of rings in his and he asked me, "What does the skirts on a piston do?" I told him I didn't know. He said it looked like just extra weight. He goes over to his band saw and cut them off. Took a file to the cut edges and we put it back together.
Cranked it up and it wouldn't idle under 3000 RPM and it would rev up real quick. He dropped it in gear and took off through a pasture behind the house. That damn thing would fly and felt and sounded like it would turn 25,000 RPM. Then, everything came out of the bottom and sides of the case. I've never seen so much destruction. He had a rocketship for about 10 minutes.
Later, he told me that he figured out what those skirts were for, to hold the case together. I could write a book about what me and this guy did but I'm not sure about the statute of limitations on some stuff. But, we sure did tear up a bunch of stuff along the way.
NO!Sure you don't wanna try a KX500 first?
That's exactly the way it happened.I can picture this guy with his legs wrapped around an aluminum bomb spinning at 25,000 rpm, feeling like the king until catastrophic metallic failure.
Gonna hurt when bambi walks in front of him.
