shooting at Sheetz around the corner from me this morning

Good thing we decided against the home down there.

It’s not a high crime area at all. In fact I just got here and love it, but it’s like any gas station anywhere on a main thoroughfare. When I lived in Cary I used to stop at a station down the street from $2mm houses and a golf course. The sketchiest cars and people would stop in there regularly and I could never figure out where they came from.

The takeaway on this for me is just a confirmation of what I already practiced. Stay out of gas stations after dark if you can, and I realize some can’t. And don’t ever get out of your vehicle without a gun on your person that can be drawn in a hurry and shot from retention. If you don’t know what this is, learn and practice it the next opportunity you have. We usually have at least one stage every match where we will draw and shoot from close retention at a target at arms length. It’s good to be comfortable and familiar with this.

Cool.
We did find out that the home we liked there has an HOA but is has fallen into oblivion. Nothing is enforced and no dues are collected.
We might go back and look at it again if we don't find anything else

Surely Beto will address the shooter's ethnicity, the gun, how it was obtained and how they probably voted.

Not this time. The perps were "victim culture".

shoot me a PM with an address if you want and I’ll share what I know about the specific location if it is close by

I go to that station all the time when I have to go to one of my distributors there. Doesn’t seem like a high crime area.

Wow! 5am and WRAL actually gave a description, I'm proud of them.
We lived in Fuquay for 15+ years, enjoyed it until the population past what we're comfortable with and the roads could handle.
A decade ago, my sons had a gun pulled on them while they were in their car minding their own business at the Advance Auto, then a year later at the Cookout. Both times it was rap listening thugs. Fuquay has one section that's sketchy, they usually stay in it.
Same thing could occur in Cary, Apex, Raleigh, Garner, etc, shop before dark.

This is a prime example of why you should always carry your handgun. I don't understand those who have a CHP that"only carry when I think I may need it". You don't get to pick the time nor place, the bad guy does. Carry your gun, on you, not in your console.

Least they had the balls to give descriptions of the suspects.
They don’t do that up here

Don't let the occasional newsflash like this from Fuquay dissuade you from living in the area. Fuquay is a pretty nice town relatively speaking. In general, the bad shit only happens in the Walmart parking lot or at the local cookout. I've lived here since 93 and I can honestly say that I can count the number of really bad things that have happened in town since then on my fingers and toes. I recently moved to the area where @Pink_Vapor just moved from because Fuquay is getting too crowded. Within the next 5 or 10 years, I may move out to his current neck of the woods.;)

because someone got shot at a place? lol
Hope you never lived in Kernersville, oh wait...

IMHO the worse thing in FV is how the town management has freely allowed both commercial and residental building to take place with doing little to help the terrible traffic we have.
Yup, seems the only way N E or W is 401 or 55 with stop lights every 1/4 mile.

Not sure what neighborhood you’re talking about Austin. I was off Kildaire Farms Road for 29 years except that short stint while renting waiting on our current house to be built. And even then they were building $700k houses down the street.
