Remember when supporting the elected leader of the United States was considered "ok" for Americans? Pepperidge Farm remembers...

In the 80’s we took a school Field trip to see Ronald Reagan when he visited Elmendorf Air Force Base. Was pretty awesome! Could you imagine the outcry if it happened today? Literally school boards would implode

I recall in 1968 the hallways of my elementary school were plastered with Nixon Agnew and Humphrey Muskee posters.
We also got to do our duck and cover drills.

Due to the fact the incident caused concern for many and helped create a negative athletic environment, according to Tucker, the NCHSAA decided to reprimand the cheerleaders by putting them on probation.

I’m a bit slow. What’s a negative athletic environment?

Anything that goes against the current “ISIM” fight the SJW on the school board are proponents of

Too many fat kids?

on probation for the rest of the football season for their part in holding up a Trump banner during the Aug. 30 game against Piedmont.

if 'no politics on game time' is the rule I'm okay with it.

But as stated, I'm not okay with a hurt feelings suspension.

I wholeheartedly agree that the cheerleaders should be punished. In fact, I think that this is a symptom of a far larger problem of racism and social injustice. The White House should immediately cut off all federal funding to the entire school district and initiate an investigation to delve deeper into this horrendous occurrence of political expression. :D

One where everyone doesn't get a trophy.

Just a PC way of saying we are covering our collective asses so if there is blow back nothing can stick to us as a governing board.

Because of this decision I will not attend any high school athletics. I wanted to this year as I finally have the time to do it, but not now.

Yeah it stinks to heaven this is the district I live in. Just for giggles I thought about getting a banner just like it put in the bed of my truck and riding up and down the highway in front of the school on game night.

Maybe make some snow cream out of snow flakes

If you live in that area, call and voice your outrage and work to remove these idiots out of office. Isn't local school boards elected?

CD

It's actually not the school board, but the NCHSAA (athletic association). The school said they actually violated no code of conduct by posing with a banner.

I think it'll end up in court

If it was the school, I get it. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I would get it. A private/non-profit organization whose purpose is to shill for high school athletics? That's no bueno.

I'm convinced without any doubt whatsoever that DTS is an actual mental condition.

While that is true, the board and super threw them under the proverbial bus for the state "association" to run them over...and the stand they did take is to ensure the next time it happens it will violate local school policy.

"James said the school system did not discipline any of the students because there were no violations of the student code of conduct. He said school officials will likely update the code to include rules against political campaigning on school campuses during sporting events."

I don't believe they were "campaigning", but demonstrating support for the President...and it is odd...cheerleaders and players might take a knee during the anthem and the NCHSAA has no issue with that (As far as I am aware), but display a POTUS banner and they attack...AMERIKA!

Agree, they need an attorney experienced in 1A issues to take this home.
