Man with concealed-carry holds suspect, accused of crashing into cars, at bay

Obviously a Sig. o_O

ā€œI thought he shot him, but he had pistol-whipped the fellow and thatā€™s what made the gun go off,ā€ said witness John Simpson.

So, ordinarily when I pistol whip a person, I take my finger off the trigger first. Is that not the usual policy? Just checking.
Absolutely not. You lose a lot of leverage that way and could even lose control of your weapon!

And an IDPA match stage...

There was one where you started 3ft from a no shoot, center -0 cut out. On the buzzer you needed to advance, take a knife (a stick 6" long) off a table and put the knife through the hole (simulates stabbing). Then draw and engage the other targets.

In Wilkesboro we had a stage where you pulled a Kabar from a sheath that was hung on the target frame and stabbed the target, leaving the knife stuck in the target, then started your pistol engagement. No wimpy azz fake stabbing. :D

But, what's that got to do with pistol whipping? I wonder if there is a barrel length requirement?

At the CCGC 2 gun match we had a stage where you had to pick up a Mosin, scream like an angry commie, and change/bayonet a target before proceeding to shoot down an array of nazis.

Good times.

So the CC'r was in one of the cars hit. At first I was all, whoa I'm not sure I would have done that. Then I was all like, woah he's lucky he didn't shoot him. lol

Witnesses said the suspect got in his black truck and continuously slammed into three to four cars. He was stopped by one of the drivers, who was carrying a gun. The man with the gun allegedly hit the suspect in the head with the weapon.
