Home Depot and Lowe's and facial recognition

Interesting that this news comes from a UK source. They should know everything about video surveillance with around one camera for each 10 people.

Too complicated. I prefer a simpler approach...

I do t believe this. Not for a second.

Maybe HD, but at lowes, we are still using software from the early 90’s with some stuff.... if I find out they’re using advanced stuff like this, while giving us this old junk.... oooooo imma be mad!

Lots of retail stores are using it and tracking micro expressions. So they put an item on the end cap. If it doesn't have a certain number of positive reactions it get pulled fairly quickly.

stores also collect this information to sell to manufacturing companies to better explain what will sell better. I read a big article on the legality of all of this I believe from UNC school of government a few years ago.

People now believe we have evolved and evil tyranny is just something in a history book. Life is a Disney ride where, at the end of the day, they will be safe. Those murders and rapes on the news didn't really happen, just part of the show too.

I remember my brother telling me about this setup back in 2001 at the mall he worked at in NYC. Had a friend in the security department.

I remember a few years later we started seeing all this point and shoot cameras with green face recognition boxes with taking pictures.

I would imagine if it is being used, that it is being used to identify thieves. Theft at my local HD at one time was a big problem according to my cop friend.

They had to specify on that 2nd one that it “won’t make you invisible”. Some people are not ready for this tech

This is probably the most accurate description of the US today I’ve ever read

Every time I walk past one and it starts recording I shove my finger in beak and dig around some... while looking at the camera and give a what’s up nod

What's most disturbing isn't that it's happening, it's that we (as a whole) are welcoming it. We're buying smart phones and smart refrigerators and smart faucets - and we don't care that our data is being shared. We invite Amazon and Google into our homes with Alexa and the like, and it's ok when we start seeing ads for cruise lines after we were talking about going on vacation, even though we never looked anything up about it.

I don't trust any of it.
