Read an article about the army putting out an alert about the possible mass shootings by incels at Joker screenings.

The Army issued the memo in response to social media posts from these so-called "incels (involuntary celibates)" that were uncovered by the FBI.

I know we have joked at this site about the perpetrators of some of these mass shooters needing to get laid, but according to wikipedia at least four mass murders, resulting in 45 deaths, have been committed in North America by men who have either self-identified as incels or who had mentioned incel-related names and writings in their private writings or Internet postings. But this is the first time I have seen anything in the mainstream media about this community.

I 100% believe that many of these guys just need to get some. I believe prostitution should be legal. Note that I don't mean regulated by the government, because if it's regulated it will just go under ground as per usual. It should be legal for two adults to enter into a contract for sexual favors in exchange for money, in a free society, period. I think this would mellow out the whole country.

I take it to mean more of the way they've been raised and the identity, persons, habits, behaviors, etc have made them basically unattractive to girls. Hence despite wanting to couple up, they lack the confidence, training, etc to successfully navigate the dating scene.

As we have been told for the last few decades, "it's her body, it's her right", should be applied to prostitution. if she wants to sale her goods, then she should be legally able to. And she should be celebrated in her choice and should not be made to feel bad about it.

When did not having sex turn people into murderous maniacs that shoot up places? I think we’ve all had dry spells here and probably handled it like most normal people....you punch the clown a few extra times, bitch about it to your buddies and go on with life.

While I'm not saying the incel tag is an excuse, as a society we have made the position of young men untenable with contradictory expectations. They have to be utterly passive and inoffensive while being aggressive and manly, often in the same situation.

They are blamed for every ill of previous generations, specifically excluded from assistance and forming affinity groups (because that's exclusionary patriarchy) while being told they run everything and have all the advantages. They are damned for their sex by the same people who declare sex irrelevant UNLESS you're a male in which case you are hounded to apologise and atone for the bullshit "wrongs" of your forebears.

Then add in the pressure of a hyper sexualized culture where ANYTHING you do may draw condemnation, passivity and aggression both lead to witch hunts and internet mobs. And not succeeding in that minefield is social death and more excoriation.

And we wonder why a tiny percentage with who knows what other issues lash out? I wonder why more don't.

OFFS I have officially outlived all common sense in these United States. If you play for the home team, the away team or no team will have you, don't do stupid shit and we're OK. As far as I know, even non binary sexual identifying individuals can "enjoy themselves" either alone or in good company. So their odds of a happy ending are as good or better than most of us ( poor married schmucks) ...so stuff like this " rubs me the wrong way." So life is hard, and the inward falling thoughts of being persecuted creates a sense of outrage, etc. Bwaaah

None of the above is a valid reason to go all cattywampus and light off other people, it ain't society's problem that you are all butt hurt about whatever.

The real issue is the YOU that YOU yourself don't like.
 
I posted an article on one of these forums recently where they showed that nearly all of the worst mass murderers were raised without a father.

Fundamentally the liberal destruction of the family is what is causing most of our problems.

These incels are just another consequence of that I'd bet.

Think bigger picture. Advanced civilization is possible because major religions all promote marriage. One of the most important functions of marriage is it gives every or almost every male access to sex. These men then have children and then work to provide for their families.

A civilization that does not promote marriage creates a powderkeg, as females would naturally revert to mammalian mating patterns where 20% of the males are banging 80% of the fertile females, leaving many males shut out of the sexual marketplace. All that male energy that could have been directed toward productive work now gets channeled into violence and attempts to overthrow the system. If you have any significant % of the male population behaving this way, goodbye advanced civilization.

Look at great apes, lions, etc. The males who are banging have to focus their energy on defense, and the males who are incel are always looking for ways to take out the alpha. You simply cannot have an advanced civilization when so much male energy is wasted on 'non-productive' pursuits.

With women marrying later, they spend much of their fertile years having fun. And for women, having fun means hypergamy, which by definition shuts the least desirable men out of sex. For these guys, it's not a dry spell. They literally cannot get laid apart from prostitution. I have a relative like this. Fortunately for him, we come from a very traditional culture, so he was eventually able to marry some beastly gal. But hey, vag is vag, and now I never have to worry about him going psycotic because he's getting the main vein drained regularly.

It is not so much the lack of "getting some" as it is a culture that creates a disposable male since available females decrease due to attaching to powerful males even if they are just one of many such females (polygamy) or factors like LGBT communities (where females greatly outnumber males), and a general lack of interest in pairing among heterosexual females.
The disposable males are much more easily radicalized as they look for meaning in their lives outside of pairing, and they have been radicalized to believe their unhappiness is a direct fault of "x". In the ME, x=the west. Here, x=women and "Chads".
Then they strike out at x.

Exactly. The reason Mormons can exist in a larger society is they send their surplus males out into the larger society. Mormons in their own country would be problematic because all the males shut out of the mating market would cause trouble.

An interesting point about polygamy (a male preference) is how it relates to hypergamy (female preference). Females would rather be in the harem of a powerful alpha than have the undivided attention and resources of a lower beta or omega.

This will always pose a problem for the middle eastern countries that practice polygamy, and it will undermine their potential. The genius of Christianity's monogamy is harnessing the productive potential of nearly all the males

Like others have said, a part of this is monogamy falling out of fashion, and less people looking for marriage until late in life. Most of my friends are in their late 20s to late 30's. Very few are married, and many of them seek out multiple partners to hook up with.

It creates a situation where the top 20% of men share 80% of the women until the women are late enough in life that they have to choose to settle for a lesser man or become a wine drinking cat lady. The absolute top tier men just trade in for younger models.

When society favored long term monogamous relationships and marriage, this was less a problem. Birthrates for males and females are very similar.

This is less a problem for the women. As anyone knows, a woman doesn't have to be a supermodel with a stunning personality and intellect to get laid. She's just got to be a woman with decent hygiene. The stakes are much higher for men, and when monogamy is out of the question, those not in the cream of the crop get left by the wayside. If they bide their time, perhaps they can marry a 40 year old wine drinking cat lady, as long as she doesn't mind a 40 year old virgin man with a HUGE collection of action figures and toys.

Some of these leftover men stay childlike, living lives that revolve around video games, toys, and comics. Some become screeching soyboy feminists in hopes that it lures a woman their way. Some become "jailhouse gay" and some decide to become the woman they can't have. (you'll see this sometimes in transgender people) Some turn to drugs and alcohol, and I suspect, that a small select few get so angry and feel so hopeless that they lash out and harm other people.
 
It's "a" problem in a long list of "all" problems. Seems everybody has a different set of buttons to push to trigger it.

While it seems that most non-Muslim mass shooters are incels, as I've posted many times in threads on these shootings, there are almost always multiple factors involved. Incel by itself, is almost never sufficient. Even if only 1% of young males were shut out of the mating market (in a date into your 30s culture, what female would want to have sex with a bottom 1% male when she could easily find someone more desirable?), that's a large number of guys in their late teens to mid 20s with high testosterone levels and blue balls. If that alone were the trigger, mass shootings would be a daily, if not hourly, occurrence.

Usually there are other factors involved. For one, being totally shut out of the sexual marketplace over a long period of time is usually accompanied by a high degree of social awkwardness. The kind of social awkwardness associated with autism. For another, in many of these mass shootings, the shooter has a history of mental illness and medication. While psychoactive meds help many people, they do seem to have the side effect in a small number of people of driving them totally psychotic. It could be that the combination of mental illness, psychoactive meds, and being hopelessly shut out of the sexual marketplace in a society where sexual imagery is constantly thrust into their face, causes some tiny % of those in this unfortunate situation to snap.

When a mass shooting happens, the left, and therefore the media, doesn't want to talk about the cultural degeneracy that results in some guys being totally shut out of sex. And big pharma doesn't want to talk about the dangerous side effect of their psychoactive products. So it gets blamed on the guns, which not coincidentally, are a target of marxists, who know they cannot exert the control they want while the citizenry remains armed.

When I hear about the power gun manufacturers have over Congress, I know the person uttering this lie is either a sophist or a fool. Look at the market capitalizations of American Outdoor Brands and Ruger, and compare them to the big pharma companies, and then tell me who has power over Congress.
