Any Goldwing guys on here?

119k isn't bad at all. I've got a ST1300 with 100k on it and it still runs like new. I have several friends who have ST's with over 250k! They aren't Goldwings but they are Honda's.

My dad has an 02 st1300 with somewhere around 85k on it. No weird noises or oil use at all. Just keeps going.

It's an '03 unless he bought it in Europe. We didn't get the 1300 until then. Our '02 was still the ST1100. They also quit bringing them to the US in 2012 but they are still available in Europe and maybe Canada although 2014 may have been the last year for the Canucks.

It might be an 03. I know it’s early 2000’s and he loves it. I’m really not sure of the year. It was immaculate when he bought it until my step sister backed into it. Luckily it only scratched the bags a little and broke some led strips that the previous owner had added.

An old 1500 6cyl. Good motors, If it wasn't abused 119k isn't really alot of miles. has it been sitting recently??? If so check rubber stuff for dry rot. Look at the date codes on the tires, if over 7yrs or sidewall cracks put new tires on it. If it has been sitting it might need the carbs cleaned. If you can get any maintenance history on it look if the timing belts have ever been changed. If not change them. Change out all the fluids, take off the back wheel and make sure the rear end gears are lubed, clean them, check for wear and lube them up with Moly Paste, don't use regular grease it will sling that off in a thousand miles and you will be needing a hard to find rear end. Us silicate free antifreeze otherwise it will eat up the water pump. Otherwise, ride and enjoy.

You-all would be surprised at just how well a Goldwing handles. I have floorboards on mine and have to lift my foot off in the twistys so they can pivot up.
Slow speed handling is also exemplary. I've won more than one slow race with mine...to the horror of the Harley guys.

Beware the old man on a Goldwing. That ain't his first bike...

Yellow Wolf's Wing doesn't have stock suspension on it. That doesn't mean that he can't ride the snot out of it but it makes it much easier than with stock.

What I’ve learned in over 30 years of riding street bikes. Old guys on sport bikes will usually hurt you ego. I can’t tell you how many times I would go on group rides and we were getting ready to leave for the first time how all the new guys would make sure they got in front of the old guy on the SS or ST bike. I wasn’t a great rider or fast rider but I could hold my on with 90% of the really experience holligans. On a side I note I thought I was fast until I seen “Fast” :).Also crashing makes you a better rider

I'd love to have a newer wing before they put airbags ABS and the rest of the electronic BS on them. Old dirt riders dont need any of that crap

If you never crash you'll never know how fast you can go.
Yeap, it’s amizing what modern motorcycles and tires are capable of. I always giggled to myself when I would here guys say they were moving up to a little bike because they needed something faster. I’m guessing only 1 out of a million people can ride a 600 to its full capabilities. May be less than that. Don’t take any skill to get on a straight away and run a 150mph:) Roads I like you lucky if you can hit 60-70

I've had a couple of wings years ago.moved to BMW after that for a different style.

Now my knees are shot and I need to get off my ass and sell it!

I've got a 2008 wing. It's nice. Comfy, handles great on the straightaways and the curves. Nice looking bike too. It's just not me though. Guess I'm not a Goldwing guy. I also have a Valkyrie, which is basically a stripped down Goldwing. I made it a single seater, chopped the fenders, put 14" Apes on it, made a Bobber type bike out of it. That bike is a beast, it is also my favorite. Surprisingly it handles great with the Apes on it. I also made a set of shorty 5" exhausts for it. Sounds awesome.
I might be selling the Wing and looking for something to replace it.

Years ago before the Goldwing had the bigger engine I was ride the dragon and grinding the acorn nuts off the floor boards and got passed by a Goldwing ring 2 up. It was keeping up with the sport bikes.

Honda discontinued the Moly Paste that is used on the rear splines. They went to Honda M-77. Most Goldwings and ST guys prefer to use Loctite 8012 over the M-77. But you definitely need to clean and lube the splines.

Would you like a nice 2008 Goldwing?????

This was a trike for my wife. The guy wanted 3. It’s was his FIL’s. He said it had 11900 miles. When I got there I seen the mileage he didn’t realize the top odometer didn’t have 1/10ths.
So when I seen it was actually 119000 I told him it’s was a nice bike but not worth it to me. After a few weeks he told the guy that got me contact with him that he would do 2. I committed to that but then he backed out. She won’t ride. 2 wheel with me much less herself. It was a win/win for me. She would have rode it with me if she didn’t like it

ride a 97 aspencade here. about 90k on it.. have been wary of any long trips on it since my argument with gravity last year.

My Dad is looking at a 2 wheel couch :) or as the desire to get one. Seeing him on two wheels is giving me the bug again too, but I prefer euro/street fighter type bikes.
