With great emotion, an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez supporter exhibits an odd mix of climate hysteria and Democrat insanity claiming that we do not have time to stop total annihilation from climate change. Her suggestion – eat babies. Her t-shirt, she says, has AOC’s next campaign slogan – Save the Planet – Eat the Children

It's not her suggestion, but I think she took the suggestion out of context. Not that the context makes it any better. I think the original suggestion was more Soylent Green than BBQ babies.

Yes, it's dumb, but every candidate/politician has supporters that say wild and dumb things.
 
When I used to protest an abortion clinic in TX, we would send in two couples to "get an abortion." One would take the literature inside that we offered at the entrance. They would all sit down, and one couple would be like "do you BELIEVE this stuff!?!?!?! This is OUTRAGEOUS!" ...pass it to the other couple, and the woman (always the woman) would become visibly upset on looking at it, citing the stats on embryology (beating heart, sentient, sucking reflex, avoiding pain, etc) and saying "they never told us THIS in the counseling... what if we are about to kill a human being? I don't know about this" The original woman would respond with typical pro death rhetoric, dismissing the "blob of cells" and "religious fanatics" and her partner would take up the pro life argument. We would have a four way argument going, oftentimes affecting some of the waiting women enough that they fled the clinic. By the time the staff got wind of what was happening and threw our people out, several people actually CONFRONTED what the true nature of what was happening, and made better decisions.

The point is, the most effective argument against foolish evil is often the foolish evil arguments themselves, brought into the light. You will be HATED by some, but that is the nature of darkness.... it hates the light.

Weird Al is a genius. Really. By the way, he lists THIS GUY as one of his formative influences. Tonio K has some of the most blistering and amazing lyrics of anyone. He was one of my absolute favorite songwriters of the 80s/90s. Anyway, it is said that you aren't really anybody in the music industry till Weird Al has covered you. Rumor has it Kurt Cobain was ecstatic and elated when he covered "smells like teen spirit", and Cobain had very little ability to laugh at himself.
 
Years ago, when I was in college, I recall sitting in the cafeteria eating and I overheard some girls at a table behind me discussing a piece of literature they had read. They spoke with horror about the writer who was suggesting that the way to defeat a famine in Ireland was to eat the children...it was "A Modest Proposal"...which everyone was taught was satire. It was literally the piece of material used when the concept of satire in literature was introduced. I sat for a bit thinking "They have to be joking...they have to know that's a satirical piece written to purposefully show itself as outrageous..."

Alas...they were 100% convinced that this man was 100% proposing that children be put on the menu.

TL DR...never underestimate stupid. It will strike at any time, at any place.

"Family Planning Clinic" huh? I suppose the Nazi death camps were "institutions for the betterment of the gene pool". Even better is the implication that "normal people" are the folk who decide to murder en utero for convenience.

well we aren't in the basement...

what people do with their own body is nobody else's business, including yours. chalking it all up to "convenience" and comparing it to a death camp sure seems like an ad hominem approach to shove your beliefs down the throats of others- just like the democrats are doing with gun control.
 
What the woman said is sensible in a liberal-thinking sort of way.

It makes perfect sense to eliminate man-made climate change by eliminating people.

If reliable energy sources are eliminated under the Green New Deal, it also makes sense to directly eat people than going through a chain of intermediate food sources that would require even more energy.

ALL laws which protect persons against the predatory activities of others are by definition "cramming you beliefs down their throats" Nuremburg was "cramming the beliefs down the throats" of a DIFFERENT generation of monsters.

I don't give a sh*t what you or anyone else chooses to do with your body. Seriously. You can tatoo it, brand it, dye your hair, mark it, cut off digits, mark it up however you wish.

HOWEVER, it is disingenuous crap and deliberate language manipulation to claim that abortion is "What I do with my body" Every shred of evidence that exists from embryology shouts that this is a DIFFERENT body, from antibodies to blood type to neural systems to brain function to sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. In fact, if there is leakage of blood across the placenta from mother to child or vice versa the antigens in the mother's blood will attack those from the child as alien invaders, and vice versa.

I swear that crap reminds me of the “The Charitable Foundation for Institutional Care”... sounds so... compassionate, you know. It was in fact the German outfit that sought to recover the costs for transporting and executing those considered to have lives not worth living. Again, have the balls to call it what it is. Just say it. "I want to have the right to kill the kid if it interferes with my plans."

again, you chalk it all up to "convenience," and again you clearly don't know what you think you know. i'm not advocating a punch card or discount plan for gut-chuckers, but you're omitting the fact that there are times when it's not about convenience, and if that's the hill you choose to die on, that's your right. i'm not here to change your mind, just sharing my opinion.
 
Karl Rove, in an interview, in the 2004 Campaign said that he "HAD HIS MOMENT". That was when Senator Kerry said..."I voted FOR it before I voted AGAINST it....". He called all of their Media consultants who made copies of everything that Kerry and whoever his running mate, did. YES....they ALL had it on Video.

I think that THIS little outburst MAY be one of the 2020 Karl Rove moments.

As a "OK, this is LINKED", comment, the crowd that answered the Question.....when asked by Kamala Harris, "Are YOU ready for ME to be PRESIDENT?".....and they resoundedly said NO maybe be KH's Karl Rove moment.

Lets HOPE SO, anyway.....

The debate about STUPIDITY and LIBERALISM and CRAZINESS is WHY when a Liberal says...."We can have reasonable and effective GUN SAFETY MEASURES that ensure the rights of legitimate firearms owners as well as the Second Amendment....." that we ALL know that they LIE and we give an INCH and they take a MILE.....

Dress it up however you wish. It is about convenience. All the lugubrious blubbering about the difficulties of doing the right thing in a bad situation won't even change the shade of lipstick on that pig.
