Curious to know if you set a set a destination from point A to point B.....how can you go back the way you came....from B to A?

Because anytime I try to set my destination to home....it takes me a different route...which is freaking annoying.

It may be that the traffic impacts the drive back so the new route is faster then the route how you got there?

Change the routing to shortest and see if it changes the route back.

It's a 'feature'. :D Yeah, I've got nothing...

Yeah..I understand that....but I'm looking for a retrace my steps feature......regardless of time, distance, whatever.

By default Garmin chooses the shortest distance by time even if it is just 1 minute shorter.
You can choose am alternatives route or exit a route to avoid a road and it will reroute.

Distance: 1.5 miles will be the same distance from whatever the starting point is.

Time: is dependent upon variables.

We are talking driving and not walking in the woods?

You need to upgrade to the Garmin model with the automatic breadcrumb dispenser.

What I do is find an address/location along the route you take there and on the return, enter this location as the address. Once you get close, hit the "Home" option. The unit stores your previous addresses so after the first time, it's easy.

Somewhere in the settings you can set it to leave a trail of where you went. Mine leaves a blue highlight on the streets I've been down so coming back I can just follow the blue line where I came from. It stores about 25 or so "trips" before they disappear.
