Do you carry a 9mm?

My EDC has been a G19 for many years, but I will carry other handguns and calibers from time to time, I don’t see myself permanently changing handguns or calibers in the foreseeable future.

I've been telling people for YEARS that whenever they get ANY gun, they ought to shoot a wide variety of ammunition through it to see what it likes and what it doesn't like.

ESPECIALLY semiautomatic firearms.

If nothing else, you may find one or two combinations of brand/mass/velocity/bullet design that is a wee bit more accurate than others in your gun, even if it digests everything you feed it.

Find what your gun likes and feed it THAT.

To do otherwise is to life in frustration or start attempting to modify an already perfectly suitable gun potentially into something that won't eat ANYTHING without trouble.

What good does it do to cry "But all my OTHER firearms LOVE Gold Dot hollowpoints for self-defense" when your new gun happens to like Hornady Critical Defense better? Shaddap and feed it Hornady already!

Alternate between G19 Gen 2 or most recently a G48. Carry a G42 for the times I need to run to store but that is slowly being phased out by the G48 which I’m loving more and more each day

Nope. I own a 9mm but only carried it once or twice. If the caliber of my EDC doesn't start with a 4, I feel naked. Usually 45acp but still love my Fotay. I would carry a 9 if I had no other choice. It's a matter of personal preference and everyone should carry what they feel comfortable with and can shoot the best, IMHO.
