But with what and from where? Did I miss that part?

About 8 yards or so. CZ75b 9mm. All from the holster. Probably 90% of that is unsighted or front sight only. First shot out of the holster with the gun leveled is low, then ride the recoil up and extend as I fire. Mostly 3-5 red at a time. Target is roughly torso size so Iā€™m going for centerline hits.

All old (I'd be ashamed to show y'all any recent targets).

Couple quick mags at 7-10 yds-

glockntarget.jpg

Zeroing the iron sights on my 10.5" .300BLK at 25yds-

sbr 25yd target.jpg

10rd 'mag dump' at 25yds. This ol' girl shoots like a house on fire, but I don't have the eyes to shoot irons like this anymore.

various 9mm, 22s and the occasional 12 and 20ga. The dueling tree and plate rack is at 7 yards in front of my bench, the IDPA 2/3 target is at 10yds and the 4" plate is at 25.

It was basically a demonstration on why you can't really tell group size from shooting steel unless it's freshly painted. I go for DING on steel, not groups.

20191010_111514.jpg 10.10.19

20191010_111514.jpg Still consistently inconsistent. Tried the blank paper recommended earlier. Aimed at center, they all didn't go there, but I'm still trying. Doing homework every day.
I'm not real happy with my "progress" but I'm not stopping, I'll keep working at it. Lol.
G19, 5 and 7 yards, or what's written on the paper.

I donā€™t go to the pistol range and stand there at 10 yards punching holes in paper for groups. Not anymore at least and not for a long time

Iā€™ll do a quick warm up drill of 24 rounds (Guerilla Approach Warm Up consistency target is a favorite)

I like it, do you have to make a purchase to get the target from them?

I found these printable. https://www.google.com/search?clien...HUhYBQ8QgIoDKAJ6BAgHEAc&biw=375&bih=619&dpr=3

I got me guns wet, so what it was worth it :D
9mm G34 & Colt Anaconda 44mag. Need to shorten the chains, the Colt resets the target on top.

Free standing with the Colt at 100 yards. 10ā€ target with a 3ā€ bullseye, one 5ā€ high, then a bullseye.

I very rarely shoot a pistol freehanded just for groups. When Im shooting for accuracy Im doing it at 25 yds from a rest, to take me out of the equation as much as possible. The only targets I have freehanded were from the first 3 mags through my Sig 365 when I first got it.

First mag ever through the gun, group wasn't real good, but was getting use to the trigger break and feel. Ten rounds at 10 yds.

Second mag, 10 more rounds at ten yds. Getting more use to the break and feel.

XpSYewQ.jpg

Third mag of ten rounds also at 10 yds. Probably could have done better if I worked on it but by this by this time I had a good feel for the trigger break and where the sights were putting the rounds so I went on to more drills oriented/reliability type shooting and wasn't terribly concerned with the groups.

Only for @Millie .

12 yards.

CZ Protek 9mm. Early shots were all those low ones. WTF? Called the one that knee capped the bad guy. Really sad.

AED27C30-106F-418A-968F-DE5A8893D34A.jpeg

New CZ 97b. Lottsa left. Rusty. 3 range trips in about 6 mos. Bad on me.

Another one with CZ 97b @ 12 yards.

Grabbed bigger 50 yard targets for the 45 acp shooting by mistake. Bigger black zone. No bueno.

Once I post up mine from this evening, you'll feel much, much better!! LOL.

But you did good, from what I can see!

Mediocre at best. 12 yards ainā€™t all that. My Dad was a bullseye guy so I always tend to think of groups at longer distances. Thus, I suck.

Last weekend was a match, but I did snap some photos during training earlier in the month.

The Test: Draw from concealment and fire ten rounds in ten yards at a B8. Ten second par time, 90 points is a "Pass." 98-4X, ran in 7.56 with a 1.80 draw and splits in the .6 range.

T2kY1pH.jpg

And that's a go at the Hackathorn "Wizard Drill" with my 642-2. Great drill for pocket guns. Three-yard strong-hand-only headshot, five-yard freestyle headshot, seven-yard freestyle headshot, and ten-yard freestyle double to center mass. 2.5 second par times on each string from concealment. Running 1.7 seconds or so on the first three strings averaging 2.2 on the last.

Hereā€™s one yā€™all need to try...it was one of our monthly rimfire challenges.

See how many shots you can get on a playing card from 50 yards. If two holes touch, you lose both points. If it breaks the edge, no point. So how many individual holes can you put completely on the card. At some point you have to stop shooting...or youā€™ll just start losing points with every shot.

Wow, looks like you killed the Wizard!
I've been doing the "paper Wizard" a lot at the range lately, not cold, not drawing, no timer, but I've not done too well. LOL.
I've done it for real on steel, and I think my time was a blistering 25 sec! Yowzah! LOL

Hey, I was slow, but I got the shots! (This was with the 1911 9mm. Can only get 2 shots with the Glock at the moment, on steel, on the timer.)
I'm working on it. lol.

Luckily for me, I can't get to 50 yards where I shoot! Whew!
I assume/hope you're doing this with a rifle with some kind of a scope on it? LOL. If you're doing this with a naked handgun.....wow!

50 yards with a handgun is not really a practical shot...

Doable..? Yes..

Practical..? No

Well, I want to know if it was a handgun, you never know what this crowd can accomplish! lol.
I couldn't even see a card at 50 yards....

I happened to take a couple pics that day. It looked like this from the shooting position.

I got a great tip from my instructor this week. I was still shooting left most of my guns. I was so focused on getting my grip and sights just right, I was missing one problem.

Somehow my grip and arms extended were out if balance. The push out with my right hand was too strong. By adjusting my stance to a slight weaver, one step back, I was able to get some of the force off my right side. Now the hits on paper are getting to center, some center left and center right. In summation, we're all built diffefent, lots of moving parts. No question I think it takes an observer to help you find the problems.

My last instructor got my position adjusted, but it's still not something I fall into naturally, so I have to remind myself to step back with my right foot! It's getting better in that regard, but I've still got trigger finger weirdness happening.....I'm working on it...lol.

Groups?
I donā€™t need no stinkinā€™ groups!
