Went to the symphony last night. Two standing ovations, intermission and end of show.
I've been going for a long time, and also to a lot of live theater. EVERY performance gets a standing ovation. I remember a time when those were reserved for the best performances, not for all of them.
Is this a regional thing (never saw it in CA)? A byproduct of the participation trophy culture? Something else? I don't get it...
