Does that mean I can't buy a rabbit's foot anymore?

(Remember those?)
Yes, the lucky rabbit's foot. It was supposed to bring you good luck. Well, to everyone except the rabbit.

I think they’re going about this all wrong. All these laws just confuse the population and law enforcement. A much simpler approach would be to ban...

Everything. :D

T.H. White in The Once and Future King: "Everything that is not forbidden is compulsory." The perfect description of totalitarianism.

Google "California bans" in quotes and it will find the exact phrase. Here's some of the results:
  • fur
  • smoking on the beach
  • "lunch shaming", that is, schools must feed students even if they don't pay for it.
  • straws
  • those little bottles of shampoo in hotels
  • private prisons
  • plastic grocery bags
  • sale of animals at pet stores unless they came from a shelter
  • cosmetics testing on animals
  • new homes without solar panels
  • pet hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, hedgehogs, parakeets and piranhas
  • foie gras, a food product made by force-feeding ducks and geese
  • default passwords on any Internet-connected device
  • discrimination based on hair styles, i.e., afros
  • keeping or breeding orcas
  • asking job applicants if they have a criminal history
  • most performing circus animals
  • use of facial recognition software by cops

Effective 2023...giving errbody time to clear out current stock is very kind of the statesman

Ok I have questions...

Who breeds orcas in great enough volumes that it requires a ban?

Did people putting rodents up their ass create the ban on hamsters? I had hamsters as a pet when I was a kid, they were fun and a great starter pet to teach responsibility.

Does anyone else remember when plastic bags were going to save the rain forest? Everyone switched from paper to plastic to save the trees. Now the plastic is going to kill us all like the paper was 30 years ago.

sale/manufacture of NEW fur products, so existing ones are OK? are there now pre-ban mittens and hats in CA? will they have a registry ($30 per item fee of course)? will you have to show your paperwork to any LEO on request? did they remember to put an exemption in for the media, .gov and the movie industry?

There is a very very large beef processing facility in southern CA. So are they opposed to killing animals or just parading about in their skins?

There are a number of them... and they're illegal to video or photograph...

Some animals are more equal than others on the looney farm that is Kalifornia...

How I wish plastic grocery bags were never made. A big paper grocery bag held what ten little bags do now.
