Surry-Yadkin EMC Turns Off The Power Tonight

At 11:00 PM tonight (Oct. 15), Surry-Yadkin EMC will shut down the Westfield substation ostensibly to upgrade the facility. They hope to restart it at 1:30 AM (Oct. 16). I was advised by a Customer Service representative that "she talked to a lineman" who told her that it will not be necessary to turn off any electrical appliances, computers, etc. to avoid a brownout upon a restart. Yea, sure.

I will set my battery alarm for 1:30 AM so I can turn everything back on.
