WASHINGTON -- Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) said that one of his colleagues has argued that lawmakers should be allowed to "exercise their Second Amendment rights" on the House floor.

After explaining why he supports the impeachment inquiry against President Trump, Raskin, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said that the level of partisanship in the country has been worse in the past. He encouraged the public to read volume III of Sidney Blumenthal's book series on Abraham Lincoln called All the Powers of the Earth.

"Sometimes people say, 'things have never been this bad. It has never been this partisan' and so on and just check out this book which is about 120 pages on Congressman Preston Brooks from South Carolina, Preston Brooks' beating of Senator Charles Sumner from Massachusetts -- basically beat him nearly to his death on the floor of the Senate," Raskin said during an Axios News Shapers event in Washington on Friday.

I keep saying that I don’t understand why the Dumbocrats are given a say let alone any legitimacy. I’ve advocated for non violently ignoring them or leaving and holding congress elsewhere but I’d be fine with beating the tar out of them till they shut up whether they want to or not right there on the house floor.

Let’s get the party started. I’m not getting any younger.

alright, kick it off

I’ll wait for the hordes to do that. I plan to utilize the WROL situation to hunt instead.

Telling the dumbs to pound sand and ignoring them would probably be enough to cause certain areas to erupt.

Step up, be a leader if you want this to happen.

Unfortunately, societal collapses and changes don’t work like that. Those require a collective social mood. For example look at a Hong Kong right now. Granted when the conditions are right, an otherwise insignificant event can cause a conflagration.

Sorry, but I will not be goaded into making certain specific public statements, but that doesn’t mean I don’t plan and prepare.

In the meantime I will continue to wait and anticipate the break down of the joke that passes for rule of law in this country.

As my good friend says, "What would it take for you to do something?"

I’ve put some thought into that. I’m out of time right now, but have more to say on that subject later. It’s a question we should all be asking ourselves.
