Anyone paying attention to this new league?

I have a cousin that was cut by the MN Vikings this year and drafted by the Dallas Renegades (XFL) yesterday. I hadn't paid any attention to the new league, but it looks like it might be a great 'minor league' for NFL.

Backed by Vince McMahon, I suspect it might be able to hold on for a few years if the product on the field is any good. Unlike the recently folded AAF (?), this one has serious money behind it driven by someone with a track record of success.

It’s a reboot of the XFL from quite a few years ago. Didn’t last long the first time around and doing it will this time either.

I watched some games from the first time is around. It was kinda entertaining since they are a little lax on the showboating and things like that. Some of the guys went really hard for the entertainment factor.

I think the biggest difference this time around is Vince is the whole owner. Last time it was 50/50 WWF and NBC and was way too “wrestling feeling”. Guess we’ll see in early 2020!

Plenty of names that I’ve heard before as far as players and coaches. Don’t try to take the nfl head on and they should be able to make it.

Exactly. Last time around was all about the hype...remember players making up stage names for their jerseys? "He Hate Me"? This time around I think they're embracing the idea of being a feeder to the NFL and simply filling the gap in the schedule for live sports.

Hope your cousin does well! Hope the players don’t turn this into a political platform...killing the NFL, NBA, NASCAR etc. Its a sport, play the sport! I’ll give it a chance...there ain’t much going from Feb to Fall outside of a little NHL and a few golf majors.

Gap? Baseball, football, and basketball overlap. Spring as well. Over saturation of sports will kill it off. I watch almost no pro anything though.

The only Balls we look at inside The Gates are mine. Without the 7.62 frag in the ole sack even they wouldn't be of interest.
