As far as cleaning carbon from the bolt....A spent case (with the mouth crushed flat under a size 10 1/2 boot heel ) always worked for me....

I've got a G&G Tools bolt scraper and polisher. Discontinued a few years ago though

I love my old CAT M4 tool. I’ve used it for other fixes from optics screws to even a lightly use pry bar.

I also use the Otis bone tool but don't know anything about others. It came with the Otis cleaning kit.
