I am starting to reload and looking to use BB because they are somewhat local, great reviews and good pricing. I have a Gen 5 Glock 34 and keep reading about issues with the barrel in this gun having a very shallow throat compared to previous gens and finicky about profile. I am looking to see if someone out there may have a 147gr FP and a 147gr RP they would consider sending me so that I can test in my barrel or if someone has first hand knowledge with fitment. If there is someone near Lincolnton or I would gladly pay someone to put a couple in the mail. Just not wanting to buy 250 and find they won't work. Thank you in advance.

PM me your address, Ill stick some in the mail.

I haven't had any issues with Glocks with an COAL of 1.130"
CZs and PCCs on the other hand can be hit or miss

If so.......just set the bullet deeper. You may want to reduce your charge slightly with this, but it generally isnt a big deal unless your are at maximum or near maximum charges. Ive had to load 9mm to 1.080 COAL to make them work in a CZ. When loading, remove the barrel from your Glock and do the "plunk" test.

Thank you for the responses. I definitely will be doing the plunk test to determine COAL. From my understanding the issue is more pronounced when using the large round nose profile. Just want to make sure I get it right. Thanks

Butter, pm sent.

Did some homework today. A guy I work with had some Federal 150gr Syntech and gave me a couple to test. COAL was 1.105 and .375 at case mouth and plunk’d fine. I then pulled the bullet and put it in a fired case and found that the bullet contacted the rifling @ 1.165 so with that profile I imagine 1.150-1.155 COAL would be about perfect? Obviously every bullet will be different. Seems there was a change in the Gen 5 barrel between early and late production where they addressed the short throat but they can't tell me where mine lies by serial # nor can they "confirm" the barrel modifications.

I load a 147 BB to 1.125 for just about everything and it works. CZ, Glock, and PCC.

Not blue bullets exclusively, but there are three things I’ve run into that will mess up your coated bullet experience:

1) loading too long
2) shearing of the coating while seating the bullet
3) overcrimping

You’ve addressed #1. #2 can come from not enough flare or from a rough or dirty flare die. I have had to polish the insert to keep it from roughing up the brass which then rubbed off coating which did all sorts of weird stuff. #3... back off that crimp die you only need a smidge.

And, a case guage is worth the $$

Will a 1.150-1.155 fit the magazine?

I am using a RCBS M type powder through expander that I polished up. The member here that I bought the press from gave me some 115 Bayou Bullets so I have been experimenting with dummy loads getting my flare just right at about .380-.381. The bullet sits nice and after seating and pulling there has been no coating loss. Speaking of coating loss, the Syntech round I pulled was missing the coating on a whole side where it scraped in and the coating was split and lifting at the base. For as much as they charge you'd think there'd be better quality control.
3) overcrimping
Snuck up on the crimp to just enough that the bullet doesn't set back when pushed on and leaves a faint in any line at the case mouth.

Thanks, I'll look into one

.......once again in my beloved CZ.......1.150 is the max length due to the magazine. Anything longer will sometimes get lodged in the magazime.

In a Glock absolutely. Used to load that long. Went to 1.13 to accommodate other 9s.

Tried that load in new M&P 2.0C, ended up pulling a Blue Bullet trying to clear it, and did not have a squib rod at the range. Leade is stupid short.
