Effective January 1, 2020 I will no longer be an owner of Carolina Firearms Forum. Joanne and I are retiring and relocating to Texas. We have been working on this for several months and it's finally starting to come together. It is bittersweet to move away from good friends but we are excited about this next chapter in our lives.

Three years ago I got a phone call letting me know that our former forum home had been sold to the Canadians. Immediately, there were conference calls, plans and commitments made, and within hours CFF was born and up and running. It was up and running but it was constantly being tweaked and groomed by our smart people. Mid-December is a very busy time for all of us and we had people that were at family get togethers, church plays, Christmas parties, etc., and still these guys would sneak a few minutes and work on the forum.

We limped and struggled along with the software that allowed us the fastest way to get up and running. What happened back then still amazes me. Later, we were able to upgrade to much better software. We have some talented people here and today the site runs mostly trouble free. Many thanks to the guys behind the scenes.

Three years later we have over 3500 members and we are still growing. The moral and monetary support from our members, vendors, and sponsors has made us strong and we have been able to give back to the people that support us. This couldn't be done without you. We thank you.

My replacement as an owner is Adam Summerford, @11B CIB. Adam has been with us for a long time and he will do a fine job and will be an asset to CFF. Please welcome Adam into his new role. I will still be around and plan on being as active as I've always been, I'll just be farther away.

Awesome ride over the years and you've contributed quite a bit of Geezer time, patience, and loyalty to us all in this shooters community. I will always appreciate you sir.

All the best...……..and then some. Your deserve it.

Hate to see you go. Thank you for all you have done for us all!

@Geezer hate I haven’t met you in person yet along with many other fine members. Thanks for all you have done here.

Congratulations on the new beginning. I am glad you are still going to be apart of our community. And now that you’re retiring, and have more time on your hands and we expect to hear from you more often on the forum [emoji1787]

First...a big thank you and congratulations Larry! Life is an amazing journey and I wish you and yours the very best in Texas. I will tell my son to expect some hats from Uncle Geezer to be arriving someday soon from Texas.

Second...to one of my best friends on the planet Adam...nicely done there buddy. Very cool and a perfect fit for the CFF Overlord Council. You live and breathe anything and everything CFF and weapon related and I couldn't be happier for you and the CFF membership.

Larry,
Good luck with your move to TX. Your input to CFF is valuable, please stay active.

We are going to miss seeing you guys on the mountain trips, but it gives me an excuse to look you up in Texas. I am happy for you and don’t blame you, just know you will be missed buddy!

Hey, hey, hey, y'all are making it sound like I'm leaving the forum. I'll still be here, just not in an ownership role.

Good point. And for the record...…..you will still be expected to carry your weight around here. It's the internet and distance should not be a factor in meeting your responsibilities on here.

Congratulations on your retirement, and best of luck in Ol' Tejas! I'll look forward to your ephemeral internet presence...

Shocking!

Best of luck in your retirement!

Southeast, near Beaumont.
Not real familiar with Beaumont but being so close to Gulf and Louisiana I’m guessing it’s gonna have a different feel than my Austin/Killeen/Waco area. Great thing is you can head west towards Houston (choose your parts carefully there) for Texas stuff or head east to Lafayette for the Cajun flavor.

Best of luck with the move and your new home. Maybe a TFF in your future!? :)

PS Get some good rain gear - it do rain a lot in them there parts (my mom's from farther down along the gulf coast).
