Ruger Wrangler?

Just looked up the Wrangler off of your post, looks really neat and may be a better way to go than the Heritage Rough Rider. Waiting to see if anyone has hands on experience though.

A friend/coworker just got one said he loves the way it feels but hasn’t shot it yet.

My grandson loves my Single Six. Been thinking of getting couple. Lets see 4 grandkids = $$$$

CD
I'm right there with you, I also have 4 G-kids.
You and I should do a group buy for our needs :)

My buddy's distributor still doesn't have them in stock. I still have my new grips waiting on mine. LOL

My dad gave me an old Single Six, Flat gate model that they only made for one year. Looks just like these. It shoots amazing, so Ill have to get one for the kids...

My LGS has sold every one they get in stock within 24-48 hrs. They called me and said they had some of the burnt bronze colored ones, I said hard pass I'm waiting for a black one and possible the silver/black cyl one.

But once Ruger starts making special Talo editions and stuff, these things will probably be everywhere

Neuse Sport had (1) one last weekend when I stopped on the way back from the beach. They said they were looking for another order of 12 anytime. Unfortunately the side was along and no way did I have time to fill out the paperwork and get it in the car unnoticed. Maybe get a chance to look at the Dixie show this weekend.

Remember th price by chance?

Still haven't bought one. Waiting for the super-sexy Talo editions and/or the 10rd cylinder from the Single 10. Never buy a first year anything ;)

At least 2 in stock at the Asheville Sportsman’s Warehouse tonight. Tagged at $199

@Geezer and I have had 3 ordered for a couple of months now. So far not available.

The guy at the table next to us at the MYB Show had 2. Sold them both by 1030 on Sat morning. I didn't even know he had them until a guy walked over to our table and showed one off.
Not sure what he got for them

I've seen them pop up in r/gundeals for $180 + FFL. So $199 retail with tax isn't much more if any. Wait around Black Friday and you'll probably get a little better deal.

I saw them and handled them. $239 marked on them. Sorry, not for me.

They are not for me either. First, I'm not a fan of Cerakote. While it is durable, it always reminds me of an old pitted gun that was coated trying to smooth out the pits sort of like putting lipstick on a pig. I know a lot of people like the coating and I'm not bashing, its just not for me. I think the main attraction to the Wrangler is the cheap price, but I'm from the old school and I'd rather add a few bucks and get a pretty blue single six

It's more than a few bucks. I think the comparative gun is the heritage rough rider. Most of the deals are under $200.

I've seen a few single six go in the $300-350 range. Percentage wise, its a lot more but I think down the road, the single six will retain its value better. Maybe not. I'm not knocking the Wrangler one bit. It might wind up being the deal of a lifetime at $200. I'm just old and old school as well.

it boils down to this: a single six cylinder fits in the Wrangler. Grip frame is made from a cheaper material, and the rest of the gun has a cerakote finish instead of stainless or blued. Is that worth Double? To some folks yeah, esp if it's gonna be a safe queen.
Put a 10 shot cylinder in it, and bump the price to $220 and they will fly off the shelves even faster than they already have. Then you'll have the Talo and Davidson's special editions, plus Ruger wont stop enhancing a brand new product line. This is just the start.

With the cerakote they should be quite near indestructible. It might be a handy gun to keep on an ATV/UTV. Mount some kind of holster and cable lock to secure it when not in use.

my LGS has them for $199 plus tax, all colors in stock currently. I'm still waiting on the 2nd year models (10 shot, talo editions, etc) and shot show is just around the corner.

I still have the grips that I got for mine. Never did get the gun.

My friend has one and I shot a few rounds through it the other day. Definitely a fun plinker, but I would have preferred they made it a 10 shot capacity rather than six... I mean that is the beauty of a .22 revolver if you ask me.

it's coming. Ruger likes to bleed out features slow over time. The cylinder from a Single Six fits into the Wrangler so the Single Ten configuration can't be far behind. You can always email them and request it hurry up.

FWIW if you want a nice revolver with extended capacity, look at Uberti. They make a cattleman in 12-hole form

Single Six deals come up used all the time well under $400. They will retain their value much better and actually have a nice blued or stainless finish and you will have the nice .22 Magnum cylinder to boot in most cases.

Example: A very nice Single Six just sold here with faux Stag grips and original grips for $325.

I commend Ruger for making them more affordable though. Ruger is a great company. If it helps more people start shooting then I’m all for it. I just won’t be buying one for myself.
