We are going to get a Berkey. Tell me everything we need to know. More info is better. warnings, "do this" or anything else that you think relevant

read amazon reviews but watch the Berkey site for sales and promotions. Get extra filters when you buy one

If there are more than a couple people in your household, buy two. Especially during summer months when water consumption is higher, they get drained faster than they can filter.

We bought the 2.5gal size... we have 7 in our family. I wish we had gotten bigger and we will buy a bigger one in years to com. We run 4 black filters and it's fine. When filters go on sale, we stock up. You can extend the life by scrubbing the filters with blue scotch brite pads or scrape them with a carrot peeler. I would suggest getting a stand or building one... we built a wooden one and love it. We also bought the metal spigot after we had the plastic for 2 years. Both are great, but i prefer the metal. Also be sure you prime the filters with the piece that comes with it. Instructions are definitely worth a read the first time. We replace filters usually once a year. By far one of the best purchases we have made for the kitchen. Feel free to PM me and i can check on sales or help with any other specific questions. I get an email about once a week from em... sometimes they have blem sales and you can save a good amount.

Go to Cheaper Than Dirt get one of their filters and 2- 5 gal buckets and make your own berky. Hell for what your saving make a couple. CTD has kits too.

Have the berkey lite. 4 black filters, when the flow gets slow scrub them down with a scotch brite pad. 6000 gallons on a set of filters is a lot of water. Our well has dissolved iron, and they filter that out...

I've got bags full of used stockings I'll sell. I have many flavors & keep the ones with legs still in them all separate.
Fixed that for you, hombre. You're welcome!
