I would like to go but will not be able to. I was wondering how many here are actually going? I hope the estimated numbers are way low! I would love to see 100k calm 2A supporters show up telling the politicians that enough is enough.

I wish i were able to go. But I will have to keep up with it from home.

Depending on how things unfold I might be there. I have an inspection at work first thing Monday morning then will play it by ear. I live on the NC/VA boarder and am only 1.5 hrs from VA so no a huge deal to ride up and offer support if needed.

nah man
Though, for about five minutes today I thought of going to sell things, sketched out a design specifically for VA, but cant get them printed in time.

I’m not a big proponent of protesting no matter the cause. I don’t believe it works and I don’t wish to be trampled in the open like the bonus army.

I’ll show up when the talking is done and it’s time for blood.

I kind of wanted to go just to see.
Is anyone really going to do anything?
Are the ANTIFA bussing rumors actually true? Snipers on rooftops? Arfcom radio channels coordinating certain actions?
All that. I'll be right there with Chdamn after the fact if the result warrants further action. I'm 45. The good years are gone, right? I'll use the remaining for a cause I believe in.
Carteret/Craven militia anyone?
Need a couple of lawyers and a few veteran leaders! Not to mention a whole load of constitutional loyalists.

Hell no....not at all.

At almost 47, I’ve discovered more of a willingness to raise hell than I did when I was in my early 20s.

Seriously.

Local Richmond Antifa is siding with gun rights supporters. They sound somewhat more sane than their Pacific Northwest brethren

‘I’m not going to stand with my back to them that’s for sure.
Read the article. Their guy quoted from Richmond said some of the sanest stuff I’ve read all week.

Most everything he said was pretty much spot on, unless I’m missing something.

I don’t side with them, but I appreciate his even handed rhetoric if he is serious.

I agree it is a very well written article, things are very well said. However I judge antifa as a whole based on all of their past actions over the past years. They have proven time and time again that they consider me (because of my beliefs) an enemy. Their core beliefs cannot be ignored just because we might agree on one issue.

Remember that frog that gave the scorpion a ride across the river on its back only to get stung? The dying frog ask the scorpion “why did you sting me?” And the scorpion replied “ I couldn’t help it, I’m a scorpion it’s my nature.”

And we won WWII fighting on the same side as Stalin.

And that has what to do with me trusting a group of Antifa protesters? I can do my thing, They can do their thing, they just don’t need to be behind me when they do their thing. Because I don’t trust them.

I don't think this is an accurate perception. Stalin was defending Russia from the nazis
We were engaged in a global conflict against the axis. That's why we ended up with a wall in Berlin.

The enemy of my enemy can, for a time, be my friend.

This has become my thoughts too. Initially I was thinking of going since I have the day off. Then it started looking like a Charlie Foxtrot in the making and decided with the logistics and complications of being a foreigner (non va resident) it wasn’t worth it. I’ve since made other family commitments for tomorrow.

Have no problems with showing up when it’s time to crack skulls.

We’re probably debating semantics, so don’t read too much into my comment.

That said...

I have agonized on this for a long time - and I still am, to the point of losing sleep over it. Ultimately, the only thing of which I am sure is that whichever way I go, the "regerts" probability is high. I think the final decision is going to be made around physical limitations. And that makes me even sadder. It is small comfort that one of my oldest and dearest friends (who still lives in the Peoples' Glorious Socialist Revolutionary Republic of Marylandistan) is in the same boat with me.

Gov of Va is looking demonize gun owners and supporters. Fences, repealed cc receproicity, looking to arrest a couple hundred people who disobey whatever he says. Can't stop newsgroups from being there. Media will paint is all with the same brush as the fanatics who get arrested. NC gun owner with cc permit, "concealed is concealed" type, get arrested as receprocity is revoked. The more they arrest, the worse all of us look.
Unless the people of Va. take back their state, I doubt I will be back.
CF

Already get four on the news last night.

I'd like to go but my VP at work is visiting and I have to be around. I do want to say that I believe the tactic all along has been to ask for too much then compromise and have 'us' think it's a win that they backed off (some), when 'some' was their target all along. It'll be an erosion of rights so most don't notice.

Yep.

(And I was born in Richmond, family still there, this makes me very sad. And a bit nervous.)

JMHO, our time would be better spent marching on the NRA HQ's. They for years did a great, well sorta great, job of defending our rights, not a elected official dared to mock the NRA. If ever we needed a strong organization to represent and organise an uprising it is now. They have the numbers in members but the leadership needs to be changed, as in yesterday.

I’m not going anywhere near the event, I have a feeling that the left will do everything in their power to cause the rally to devolve into a huge cluster so they can get on the national news and lament on how the “racist gun owners” can’t be trusted with “assault weapons”

I’m in the camp that believes the time for talking is about over.

Damn right ... impeach Wayne!

He is right ya know.

By the time 97% of gun owners wait for the knock on their door to realize they actually might have to participate, it’ll be to late to participate.

He is right about people needing to go. He is wrong in assuming no one has a valid reason they can’t. By his words, even someone in Texas should be flying in.

So he's not taking someone's word that they're going? lol what a joker

He’s not taking someone’s word that they already have plans and contacts made with other people to coordinate what his response will be in case things heat up. Because he obviously doesn’t know this particular person, his preparations, and his thought process.
