Any fans of HK VP-9?

I carry an SK daily. Love it.

I’m looking at the SK also. They just took in one in trade at The Gun Store, in Lexington. It feels as comfortable as the full size.

Have one that I bought from a member on here. Shoots good though I am not a fan of the mag release. Real accurate and always goes bang when trigger is pulled.

I enjoyed the one I had but as others stated it’s real easy to ride the mag release.

ergonomics and natural pointing seem to work better for me than any other pistol. I think it tends to have a little more muscle flip than some others and I also ride the slide lock.

I did do a grip chop on one So I could use US P compact 13 around magazines. I also have thr SK

that said I found some holsters that allow me to carry the full-size with excellent concealment and comfort. I carry it at least 50% of the time and the other half is the Sigg P3 65

It took some getting used to, but I found I could get a really quick mag change using my trigger finger instead of my thumb. I’ve learned to like the ambi features on it.

I’m interested in your holster recommendations.

The wife carries an SK and loves it. Truthfully, I kinda like it, too.
I had a VP9 at one point, but was carrying a PPQ that I had put Meprolights on. I sold the VP9 because it didn't really do anything the PPQ didn't and it sat in the safe more than it got shot.
I did carry it some. I had some chiefjason owb leather for it and everything rode really well.

I still own a few, but I have ditched the strikers for carry altogether and went back to my da/sa roots.

I have a pretty long holster thread over on HK pro. The thing about holsters low is that they really are different for everybody.

https://www.hkpro.com/forum/saddler...iew-holsters-print.html#/topics/237505?page=6

The one that I’m using very frequently not reviewed there is Rocketman holsters low rider. It’s one piece Kydex with a lot of forward cant. forward cant is critical for me to hide the grip on a full-size pistol.

I also really like the chief Jason holsters that I have. He made me a really nice in waistband one with a lot of forward cant that is probably my favorite in waistband double clip holster

I think my OWB chief jason may be from draco... that chief jason holster and the deluxe full size quick snap from MTR are my favorite OWB

It is lol. For leather owb, Chiefs holsters are my absolute favorites, too. Theres plenty of fwd cant, they hold the grip really close to the body, good natural retention, plus they are just damn well made lol.
Op...if it's owb leather you want, that list begins and ends with chiefjason

If anyone could use them, I’m selling two 10 round VP9 mags and a “We The People” IWB holster. $40 for both mags and $20 for the holster.

These are VP9 or VP9SK magazines?

My wife has one. Loves it.
She has arthritis in her wrists. It iis among the easiest to rack and shoot that one can find.
The "wings" in the slide reduce the grip pressure required to rack the slide.
For me, breeding lefty, I love the longer lever in the slide release. Makes it super easy to flip.
Accurate too.
My niece, who weighs barely 110#, can shoot it with near zero muzzle rise.

If any of you guys have a green one, (VP-9) Id be your huckleberry....

HK just announced at SHOT that they’ll come w RMR cut outs now & blacked out rear sights. I had one a couple years ago but sold it for the P30 bc I’m used to the LEM trigger.

The VP9 is a great gun though.

Carolina Lucky - I understand...

My first HK was a VP-9 - bought it because I couldn't find a P30L.

Kept looking for P30L - found P30; another VP9 (New in Box)...

Well, let's just say you "Catch" what you "fish" for...and sometimes you "Catch" other things that are OK.

SK?

Can't say...haven't had the urge to buy/trade for one since I got the VP-9; it is is my favorite; my EDC.

DKMatthews, I could never sell it.

If I could only keep one, it would be hard...but it would most likley be the VP-9.

I know, I know, everyone has their own opinion - just my humble .02 worth.

I appreciate you!

Very VERY cool. So, these will be backwards compatible with existing VP9s and SKs?

While I don't have a VP9 currently, I did enjoy the one I used to own. I now carry the P2000SK or USP full size.

yes they are. Look the exact same as the std 15 rd mags. One can’t tell the difference looking at them
you might be able to if you look at the back side of the mag... :)

I had a VP9 early on. I sold it to buy another walther that could share parts with my other walthers.
I liked it though, and my first pistol was a USPc. but the vp9 just wasn't different enough (except for those side panels) from the walthers to justify starting a whole new collection.
