I am looking for a bolt action .22 that is threaded for a suppressor. I have a few semi auto but some ammo just will not cycle and I would like more precision with a bolt action. Any suggestions?

CZ457 provarmint suppressor ready (replacement for CZ455 tacticool)

Ruger American Rimfire

I have the RAR and the CZ455 (with a different stock)...both shot almost exclusively suppressed.

If your wanting more budget I vote savage 93 fvsr with accu trigger it solid to build on if you prefer more refined wood and metal i would vote cz. With a limited budget at the time I picked up the savage and have not been disappointed at all and was popular enough to build on with the aftermarket support.

Savage MkII FV-SR hands down

I love ours as well! A tack driver. I did replace the stock with a Boyd's kit though. That might have put it up into CZ money when all said and done. Can't go wrong with either.

Thanks guys. I did not mention 22lr in mt initial post. I had meant to say 22lr. But after checking out some of y'alls recommendations I am rethink my objective. Soooo... What do y'all think about 22mag verses 22lr. Price point is obvious so how about other issues?

Volquartsen Summit rifle would be my choice. Straight pull similar in design to the 10/22.

Well, you can have both .22lr and .22mag (and if you want .17HMR) with a CZ 457. You can swap barrels with the turn of a few screws and a mag swap. You can buy Factory CZ barrel direct from the webstore from $125-$190 depending on what type barrel.

As to the .22mag ... it is a wicked varmint round and does increase the rimfire range nicely. It does not suppress as nicely as standard .22lr with the sonic crack and slightly higher muzzle report but a good can on a .22mag is well within the safe hearing reduction range.

If you want precision in a rim fire a 17hmr will give it, almost boring its so accurate but fun round if your wanting more than a 22lr.

I’ve only seen 2 ... one .17HMR and one .22lr. It like a CZ felt like a full size centerfire rifle. Their triggers were very nice and the action smooth ... they had synthetic stocks that felt okay but the walnut CZ stock to me feels better. If I hadn’t been infected by the CZ flu it would be real hard to choose between the 2 ... the Tikka is sweet.

ETA ... also I swear at least one of those Tikkas had a factory threaded barrel ...
