Seems we've had a recent uptick in folks discussing Black Powder.

Who want to organize a CFF Black Powder Shoot?

Woods walk (the original run-n-gun), bench, chunk, long range...whatever sounds like fun.

2 simple restrictions...loose powder only, no pellets. And no modern in-line actions.

I could ask Frank @VOD Tactical if he'd be open to a non-member day. Usually it's 1 guest per. He hosted a CFF shoot last summer.

That would be cool. I just looked at his website and he's about 2.5 hrs from me. FWIW, he really, really needs to proofread his site.

RCWA is much closer to me. If you don't mind non CFF guys, I know several others that could come.

We gotta do the "Cracker Challenge". Course of fire is simple, a Ritz cracker hanging on a wire at 25yds. Gotta break it to count. That's an 8moa aspect ratio dangling in the wind. My other favorite, ping pong balls and 1/2in marbles hanging at 25yds. All of it OFFHAND. Think you can shoot? We'll see just who has some starch in their drawers.

I attended my first BP shoot yesterday at Cross Creek Pistol & Rifle Club just east of Fayetteville and had a blast. Not many people were there and from what I gathered those folks would like more participation. If anyone here is interested I will find out more about their shoots and post info.

I'm looking into the NCMLRA and I think they have a range mid state somewhere.

I've been trying to get in touch with the NCMLRA and crickets. No response to email, FB post or phone call.

Anyone know of a range in mid NC?

We shoot at Allison Woods for our matches and I'll be there running the tower on 3/21

RCWA has a 1 guest limit. If there are a few (4) members that would commit to show that would help.

Personally I wouldn't mind driving an hour + from Charlotte for quality BP shooting.

It's a 2 guest limit but since I never heard anything about a date (after asking twice) I have booked client fishing trips for the last 12 days of March, all of April and 1/2 of May. Don't count on me to be a RCWA host......

If everybody is game, I'll be going to our regional match at Allison Woods in Statesville on the weekend of 3/20. I'll ask if it's possible to set up a "friendly" match for us while I'm there. If yall want to visit, come on by. We shoot Civil War guns in competition and Saturday is the main competition day. I'll be running the range so I won't have much time to talk.

Saw your post, thank you. I was in the tanning salon.

A 2 person limit, huh, guess I missed that.
