considering a new main carry gun

I am considering getting a new main carry gun eventually and relegating my current 3 inch XD9SC to a cross draw backup holster on my left. I am just not that great of a shooter and I think I could benefit of a more full size gun with a 4 to 5 inch barrel as main carry gun and I'd like the idea...
