“Belittling” someone

I have had a lot of staff here jump my arse about comments, some I felt were brought in and just, some not so much. But I’ve also had staff make snarky very uncalled for remarks in posts and in messages. (I’m sure I’m not the only one)

But recently, as of today, had a staff member engaged in PM with a friend of mine here and Staff was being a douche about meeting, from the start. Then tells my friend he is ignorant after friend says he will come to said douche staffer... pretty low IMO.

My question is, because it doesn’t seem so, but as staff, are you guys not held to the same standard as us? I’ve been banned and threatened with bans pretty quick like for smaller things than mindlessly insulting someone trying to buy my crap.

I'd like to make a few friendly suggestions here since the decision was made to post opinions out front here in a thread about private messages between two grown men who are members here.

The comments between the two were in private message form which is usually where members are allowed to express themselves much more freely than anywhere else. Private message means just that. Things are said in private messages that are many times heated and straight to the point. That's what private messages are for.

Name calling, douche labels, etc., etc., are not something we usually chase with our time when the private messages are between adults...…..that's just not how we choose to manage the forum. There are many different types of personalities on here with an equal amount of language choices, variations ,ect. We get that and understand that private messages enable members to express themselves very colorfully. Once again.....pms are an area for that type of interaction.

Using pms to make threats, begin wreaking havoc across the forum community, etc., ………….then we'll step in swiftly and decisively.

Maybe we don't always fit the norm in some minds but we all committed early on here at CFF to allowing adults to enjoy the site and all of it's features to the max whenever possible. Are we perfect? No.

But we do state for the record that we make strong and valid attempts to be held to acceptable standards of conduct on here.

Last suggestion: The two members should work this out themselves in private messages if at all possible.
