I've owned a bunch over the years, great revolver. Yours is WW2 production. I have a pair that were issued to the London metropolitan police dept.

What does that mean?
From what I see it’s not the big .455webley it’s the replacement in .38 … getting away from the heavier and more recoil of the .455. The cartridge however is a British .38/200 which is pretty much a rimmed .38 200 grain bullet moving at around 700 ft/sec … a weaker and about 1/4” shorter cartridge compared to a .38special. Kinda hard to find ammo (and expensive when you do find it) but fun to reload and shot.
